Hello, I know that the IA app was announced at GenCon but I haven't since seen any updates on it's release. Can anyone let me know when the expected release is?

Not until sometime in 2017.

The app wasn't announced, it was announced that FFG is "working on an app". They said to expect more information "sometime next year" (2017). Note the "more information" part.

Wasn't there something about it at GenCon ? A slide in a presentation basically saying the number one question they get asked is about the IA app and the answer is YES one is coming, sometime in 2017, now leave us alone?

Yea.. so not so vague lol. The naysayers will keep hating, but it is quite obvious to the rest of us the App is coming. I think it makes most sense to come after Endor, we will have run out of OT content by that point and it can be a good bridge between OT and the new stuff (Rebels, TFA, Rogue One etc..).

When I was chatting with the designers at wolrds, the app came up and they got quiet and were like, "did we announce that?" and we were like yeah they talked about it at GenCon. And they were like "haha ok."

I couldn't get them to tell me any more about it though lol.

It's obvious they are working on an app. What it ends up becoming, when it will be out, and whether it will be considered to belong to Star Wars electronic games licensing territory (EA?) are quite non-obvious to me. It will come out if it does. Until then, I won't be holding my breath.

I think RL hit it on the head, they don't like to announce this stuff until it is ready. That is most likely why the tweet came down, not because of some licensing issues we have never heard them talk about before regarding the app. All the license issue stuff has been a result of discussion here, no? For IA, not talking about any other game.

I imagine the app gets announced about 4 weeks before it releases to drum up hype. As is their pattern. I am ready to be proven wrong though!

Yes, there will be an app, but first, we must all circle the sun one time. After which time, FFG will be mugging us all, again, taking our money, again, and we will all be happy and giddy they did it.
