Girl Power (Rey and Miranda)

I have been testing lists for an upcoming tournament, a big one here in Florida. Since getting HotR, I have absolutely fell in love with Rey (Daisy Ridley too). I was really looking forward to that pack for the T-70 stuff but i find the new Falcon awesome.

Standard Rey with Finn and sloop and missile, TLT boat Miranda.

Do these two make a good combo? Will they have trouble against the big Meta lists (Dengaroo, Palp, Defenders)?

Any advice from someone who has been using this would be great. Thanks!

I would question Adaptability... I know I know, it makes her a PS9, but you're breaking the synergy of having the same PS, which is worth quite a bit IMO. And it's probably just me, but I think that Rey w/ Expert Handling is dope. With Kanan, she can easily clear stress, and with Finn and her rerolls, she already has a good modification ability. And unlike Han, she doesn't want to just boost around everywhere using her turret to take shots - she really wants to keep things in arc.

In order to find those 2 points, I would first question EM - While it seems like a no brainer, how often do you REALLY need that second shot... And how often do you get to take it and have it make a difference late in the game. Sure, there are times where it matters, but consistently lining up Rey for the extra offense and defense is going to be more important imo.

Also, LRS > GC imo. Your #1 target with HM is going to be Fel if he's on the board, and having that TL the round before is critical to firing the shot off. Even against non-Fel lists, it's a great deterrent to forcing someone to not engage with a target due to the risk of the HM when you've "declared" your intentions.

Ok Khyros, changed what you said to test it out with my son. I'll report soon.

Khyros, you are correct, expert handling is dope on Rey. It worked out really well and gave her some excellent positioning. Against my son who is a very good player, he had trouble keeping Rey pinned down between that, the 3 sloop and Inertial Dampeners.

Overall, I am really liked it. Some more testing will be required but this is a strong contender.

I got good results except against Tie Defenders.

I've been thinking of removing Engine Upgrade on Rey for Smuggling Compartment + Counter-measures + Glitterstim or Inertial Dampeners because Rey's only problem was her defense and I was never taking Boost as action.

Other possible change is swapping Recon Spec on Miranda for C-3PO, but I'm not sure with this one.

EDIT: Other idea I had was changing VI on Rey for Expert Handling. What do you think about it?

C3PO becomes Jan Ors to free up a point for VI on Rey (the fact that she's better against Zuckuss, as well as able to boost Rey's defense, are nice bonuses on top). Guidance Chips become LRS because TL+Focus is usually enough to ensure 5 hits.

I consider the Homing Missile almost compulsory right now - it's a great attack versus Defenders, no evade token and a 5 dice attack (if you sacrifice a shield) and you're going to have focus + target lock. Intel Agent is just a throwaway 1 point as a just in case kinda thing, if Miranda gets into an endgame and has to move first - lets her know whether to SLAM or not. Other than that, my only debate is Engine on Rey as I haven't been needing to boost much at all. Some combination of Smuggling compartment with Dampeners or Glitterstim, and Countermeasures etc might be better instead. But I can't decide, especially as I haven't lost with it yet so unsure whether I should change it.

So update, finished 13th out of 46 in a big tournament in Florida yesterday. Went 4-2 but missed the cut by a good amount of MOV thanks to Rey.

I will say this, when Rey can do her thing, she can be a monster. When she can't, she is infuriating to play. Miranda carried the team as I regened with her and slowly took opponent's down. So it was fun to play but I'm moving on to bigger and better things.

I don't know how viable it is, but I really, really like the idea of a YT-1300 or YT-2400 with counter-measures, snuggling compartments, and scavenger crane.

It even works better on Rey than Dash.

miranda carrying is basically what you get no matter what list shes in
