Edited by NeverBetTheFettThis was my first experience playing competitively for IA and even though I did poorly, I had a great time playing. Everyone there was great, the TO was a super nice guy and very helpful. Can't wait to play again with this group!
Cheers,
Allan
great games, but difficult to follow what was going down or even see sometimes.
Where in Ontario were they playing?
That took place in Toronto on Saturday, November 12th. VTTV is just working on improving their audio/video, but considering there's not many doing what they're doing for IA, it's not a bad start. I'm sure they'll get better. Otherwise, the tournament was well run with 19 players (one from Australia, and some from other Canadian provinces) and there were many close, exciting games. I find IA (when you can figure out what's going on...hehe) to be way more exciting than most of the other table top and star wars board games.

And don't forget to listen to our Cool Guy Radio Voices in the Top 8/Top 4. Hopefully our commentary is either entertaining or instructive. Maybe both?
We're rank amateurs.
No complaints, just observing the ruckus in the background which is almost always present in gamestores

Indeed. I believe there was a Magic tournament running at the same time, so there were a lot of people shuffling around and playing games.
Other than a separate room to broadcast from, it's hard to drown out all the background noise, especially screams of victory and defeat.
They commentate rounds from top 8 onwards and that solves much of the background noise issue.

Yes, that's right. The top 8 announcers are players who did not make the cut. I believe for the Swiss they left the table mic on for sound, and then turned it down for top 8 games while adding in the commentary mic. I'm happy to see someone making a solid effort to televise more IA. I'd love to see more.
