Poe, Braylen, TLT-Y

By Mrk1984, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So I really like the idea of Corran and Braylen, where I double stress a ship and then double tap them the next round. Unfortunately with a loaded Corran there isn't much left for anything other than a blocker, or I drop Corran down and he isn't as hard to hit. So I am trying Poe instead of Corran. He doesn't hit as hard, but he is consistent and tanks with Autothrusters and his ability. I just played this list yesterday with a lot of success, but I have some questions.

T-70 X-Wing: •Poe Dameron (HotR) (43)

Autothrusters (2)

Push The Limit (3)

•R5-P9 (3)

Pattern Analyzer (2)

ARC-170: •Braylen Stram (32)

Alliance Overhaul (0)

Gunner (5)

•R3-A2 (2)

Y-Wing: Gold Squadron Pilot (25)

Twin Laser Turret (6)

•R4-D6 (1)

Total: 100/100

1) R2-D2 or R5-P9? With PTL Poe won't always have stress (PA with a green, or not always needing 2 actions). R2-D2 is guaranteed, but more predictable.

2)R4-D6 or R2 for the Y-wing?

3) Autothrusters or Vectored Thrusters? Survivability vs maneuverability?

4) Different Poe?

a) I could drop down to PS8 Poe with the same load, increasing the Y to a Gray with R4-D6 and Trick shot.

b) Use Classic VI Poe, then what to do with the extra 4 points?

Vectored Thrusters probably works better if you are going for a build with Primed Thrusters and Black One. Your Poe is built to be tanky and I would stick with Autothrusters IMO.

2)R4-D6 or R2 for the Y-wing?

After having a basic Y-Wing stressed for about four turns yesterday, I'd say go with an R2 in place of R4-D6.

K-Turning Y's can be a nasty surprise for your opponent, so recovering your actions afterwords can be vital. The Y-Wing can take enough punishment, especially since people will be gunning for Poe!
