Dear Nerds, I need your help!
Please back up my lack of canon lore knowledge: are these pictures backed up by any kind of lore, e.g. in the comics? I'm thinking of doing a repaint and wanted to check.

That is a Star Wars Black Series TIE s/f with some kind of custom paint job.

I am no SW expert, but I think that you should go ahead with the repaint regardless of the canon!

I'm hoping Captain Phasma gets some good backstory coverage. Her armor might be shiny, but her character is really lackluster.

Time to buy another TIE/SF to paint in that scheme. It's wicked cool.
Captain Phasma was originally supposed to fly out during Finn and Poe's escape and be the one that shot them down. But she instead decided to walk around the Finalizer all day and tell the Stormtroopers to wipe smudges off their armor.

But I kinda like that. She's obviously in that position for a reason. What are the reasons? Who knows? But our minds fill those blanks instantaneously with a mini back story that is relevant and interesting to our own .. err .. interests.

This! seriously this has been my biggest complaint with TFA.
Putting Phasma in this scene would have made her an instant fan favourite - but instead she becomes some bit character.
Yeah but then she'd be dead from Chewie's boltcaster.

Point remains her character could have been more interesting.

Remark: Dat chrome is armor, after all. The 1 attack die more makes for a bit more of a straight forward fighter than the regular /sf.

Remark: She seemed invincible while surrounded by troopers. Less so alone :-) (holy **** that was bad writing. Imho the worst moment of the movie. In fact, the only one where I really thought "ok, this is bad." After all, I'd imagine a character like Phasma to willingly die before commiting acts of treachery.).

- About Phasma should have been TR/8: I agree. And Chewie could have just injured her (Ninja'd). After all, she's wearing awesome shiny armor.
