I'm practicing with rebel spies for regionals. Got in a couple games yesterday with a list I really like. I'll have a video up of a game with this list in the next day or two.
Leia
E sab
E sab
Davith
Gideon
3PO
R2
Alliance smuggler
Alliance smuggler
I've had some good success with the following:
Obi-wan
eSab
eSab
Davith
Gideon
C3PO
Lando
Smuggler
Still 3 spy groups, multiple force users, standard support units, good overall speed. Good flexibility too. Focused eSabs hit pretty hard. Obi-wan hits very hard and tanks well. Lando can do a surprising amount of damage and the smuggler makes terminal control pretty easy. 8 activations also gives you lots of options.
I don't play Rebels much but this is my go to list, and I'll use some variation of this when the new Jedi Luke comes out. Probably drop Davith and Lando.
Edited by InquisitorszI tried playing a little more with command cards, how's looking? The idea behind camo, illuion and murne is to make the sabs hidden and focussed wiht gideon/3po at the same making them really good at alpha striking.

Edited by AgemmanI've tried Murne with spies a couple times and she's never been worth it to me. And her ability to horde command cards is tough when you're playing spies and have all these cool cards you want to play.
One problem with your list (and I would suggest the same about the one above, with apologies), is that sabs struggle without a reroll ability. The fickleness of that red die can really hurt you. I have a list with Luke that can provide that reroll for my sabs, but you could also take out Murne and sub in an alliance smuggler and two targeting computers. Just a thought.

My video where I run the list I mentioned above is up.
RyanJamal, now that you mention it, I could knock out one of my Alliance Smuggers to fit a targeting computer on each of my sabs in my list... Hmm. Something to consider.
That would put my list at:
Leia
eSab + Targeting Computer
eSab + Targeting Computer
Davith
Gideon
R2-D2
C-3PO
Alliance Smuggler
Yep, smuggler or C3PO can be swapped for TC.
I don't mind losing C3PO in my list, because it's a very fast list. C3PO struggles to keep up.
That being said, I completely agree that they need TC, but it's strange because the red dice is the most consistant die

Have you considered Elite Echo Base Troopers over one set of sabs? Grenadier is one of the best 3 pointers, and 4/6 scenarios are laden with difficult terrain. You'd still have three sets of spies which is still good enough for comm disruption and the other spy cards. Also, Wtih the stun from the sabs and r2 holding down one terminal, I'd also think you might want to consider Rebel High Command over the smuggler. The blaise lists that play spy synergy are able to start with 4 in hand thanks to rule by fear to start the snowball of command card control. RHC paired with Scomp-link puts you ahead in the long run against anyone else, even the imperial spies.
Just food for thought!

Definitely something worth considering.

Rebel High Command
I'll have to give that a try and see if I like that better.
Even though R2 will be my terminal camper, a smuggler might still be nice to have around. It's an extra activation, and forces my opponent to spend a valuable attack on someone else other than one of my more powerful units.
I'll have to test more.

Let us know how you like it. I think differently about activations than most. 7 vs 8 hopefully won't feel too different for you.
Definitely something worth considering.

I like that list. Used one very much like it, or the same(can't remember) worked pretty good.
Leia, Gideon, 3-PO, and RHC, is a great start to any IA list!
Id of kept the eSab+TC and got rid of Davith and R2 and gone eEcho and Balance of the Force.
Non-Uniques > Uniques when it comes to wanting to dmg.

See I'm a big fan of Lando but if I had 6 points they would go to Davith first, with him focused you can almost always 1 shot a trooper thanks to his fell swoop and he's at least as resilient as Lando (though Lando's card does change that equation).
Also I find Leia is really only good if you have amazing cards to recycle, so leia/Luke works but otherwise she's too soft/big target in my view. Whilst I like Luke for his reroll effect on the damage dealers (Sabs/Obi) around him.
I like what the world's guys were saying that you really only need to stop 2 point cards most of the time so 2 spies is enough.
I think I'll post a separate thread for this, but I really don't get why people like Davith. His traits are good, but his damage output seems so subpar compared to Lando, who can hit hard up close and take pot shots from far away. Davith is fine if he's focused, but if he's not he doesn't even concern me, especially if I'm rolling a white (which with my current Imperial spies list I always do against him).
