Quad Turbolaser Cannons and further dice modification.

When you use QTC, does the red accuracy that triggers the bonus accuracy need to be present at the end of the dice modification phase?

For example: you roll a natural red accuracy, get the second with QTC, then reroll the original accuracy with a CF command or leading shots or use it in some other way. Do you get to keep the bonus red accuracy?

The way im reading it: yes. But I'd really like a second opinion.

Hold on, since the wording is: "While attacking, if at least 1 red die face has an (accuracy) icon, add 1 red die set to the (accuracy) icon to your attack pool. " does that mean you could then modify that bonus accuracy dice, by rerolling with leading shots or veteran gunners, for example?

There are certainly situations where an accuracy might not be needed at all, but raw damage is preferred instead.

Of course.

The only caveat is that you have to be doing all of your modifers in the Resolve Attack Effects step.

This includes Your Rerolls, your Additions, your Spendings, all of the above...

Because they all happen at the same time , you choose the order in which you do it, but because each step is discrete , it takes effect immediately...

So, You have a Red Acc... Immediately add a Red Die set to Acc to the Pool...

Then go on with your other modifiers....

Be wary of such things as Concentrate Fire Dial, for they let you add a die of a colour that is already there , into the pool... So its advantageous in that case to use Defiance, to add a Black Die, before adding a ConFire to add another black, for example...

Just be mindful of your orders - and realise that yo have to do them all before moving on... As soon as you give your opponent the opportunity to spend a defense token... And he makes you reroll to an Acc... That's too late to do a **** thing about...

Also to me mindful about is the "While" trigger, restricting it to once per attack...

Its all fun to roll a red acc, get the extra red acc, Reroll them all with Veteran Gunners..... But rolling another Red acc at that point won't activate the Quad Turbolaser Turrets again... Just not happening.

Thanks. That's how I was reading it but I was surprised that I hadn't realised it before. I've been playing around with QTC builds and only realised that there were extra shenanigans in play once I looked at examples of how best to modify with dice actually on the table.

I can see why it's 10 points now. When the card first came out, I couldn't really see the value in it.

It is an Extra Dice. You pay 10 Points for an Extra Dice to do what you want with...

Furthermore, its an Extra Dice that is set to a rare result for that Dice - 1/8 Chance.

So yes, definitely, its worth 10 points for what it does... Its up to the player, however, to find a way to really turn that 10 points to their favour.
