Ezra, Braylen list

By jackal13, in X-Wing Squad Lists

The other night I flew Ezra, Braylen, & Poe. I really liked Ezra in this build. He is super tanky and has pretty good damage output. Braylen was good for control and with his ability with Kyle he hit pretty hard. I didn't like Poe in this list but just threw him in at the last second. I was thinking of putting in a Lothal but decided on Maranda. I specifically built Ezra to deal with Zuckuss. During the entire match he didn't take 1 damage. As long as he is stressed he gets to modify 2 eye balls on defense. Give it a fly and see what you think.

(99)

Ezra Bridger (29) - Attack Shuttle

Rage (1), Autoblaster Turret (2), C-3PO (3), Stealth Device (3)

Braylen Stramm (30) - ARC-170

Kyle Katarn (3), R3-A2 (2), Alliance Overhaul (0)

Miranda Doni (40) - K-Wing

Twin Laser Turret (6), Homing Missiles (5), Long-Range Scanners (0)

To make Ezra even tankier, have you considered swapping rage for elusiveness?

I'd remove Ezra's Stealth Device to give Gunner to Braylen and Extra Munitions to Miranda.

SD gives me 1 more die and if I guess correctly it adds a die to my roll, so if Zuckuss makes me reroll that's more dice that I could modify 2 of my eyeballs. So far it has worked but I know evade dice can crap out, and with only 4 hit points I realize Ezra can go down quickly. I've always guessed 1 evade result and have always had eyeballs to modify if I guessed wrong. Most players don't have me reroll my eyeballs in the 1st engagement which Ezra gets to modify 2 when stressed. After that engagement they make me reroll eyes and evades.

Nice to see someone 'play the odds' with C-3PO instead of using it as a garuanteed 1 evade (with something as fragile as an attack shuttle, you can't afford to block damage in single hits).

Gunner on Braylen is nice, but if expecting to see Zuckuss, you're probably expecting to see builds that don't give a monkey's about receiving stress....which makes it an odd choice, in some ways.

An M9-G8 Weapons Engineer Thane might be nice instead (and work well with a TLT Miranda), but I'm not sure if you can fit him in easily.
