Stay off target

By ObiWan, in X-Wing

This is most likely too overpowered, but it would just be so much fun!

EPT: "Stay Off Target" (4 pts)

When an enemy ship within your firing arc at range 1 reveals their manuever you may receive 1 stress token to rotate their dial to another manuever of the same speed"

Would benefit lower PS pilots with EPT's and would just be a lot of fun

Are you sure you play the same game as the rest of us?

That would help higher ps more.

In order for this to work for lower you would have to outflank your opponent's higher ps and hope they don't have this upgrade.

If this was on a higher PS ship you can fly almsot straight at a target and then barrel roll or boost to make sure its targeting a ship and because of that higher PS the lower PS suffers to move according to how the higher PS ship wants them to move. This could possibly give soontier another EPT aside from PTL and allow him to become a much more aggressive ship. This also pretty much kills any large ship with low PS for the same reasons except now they have a much bigger chance of being ran off the board with no recourse or into multiple debris on the field.

Heck it helps higher PS ships even more since they get a stress before they move that can just green clear it. I'd run this on vader in a heart beat

If you leave it at 4 pts keep it as is but if you make it a once per round thing lower it to 2-3

Yep, let's fly soontir off the board.

Super powerful. Like, super, super powerful.

More like your opponent picks your manuver of the same speed, but it's always green.

Wow.. we would all love to see Dengar with this card. going infinite on stress and moving your ship to face away from him and stay in his arc forever. sounds like a blast. Can I go back to facing land destruction in Magic? maybe infinite Account Siphons in Netrunner. That's what I play games for!

Not really a good idea, sorry :D

It would literally ruin this game.

I never said it was a good idea, I just said fun. you gotta agree it would be fun to fly soontir into an asteroid

No real reason to argue here as I don't think this card should be made. But, I still think it would be better on lower PS. You get to move before them and know exactly where they are, making it easier to get into range 1. Then since you activated first you could always take an action.

Actually, no it wouldn't. Part of the joy of this game is the maneuvering and learning to predict & counter your opponents potential moves. The card you've suggested is a crutch for those who can't grasp a basic fundamental of this game. Fly better.

Cool!

I would tweak it just slightly...I feel the 1-Stress is too "light".

...make it 2-Stress tokens, 2 Ion tokens, Weapons Disabled token and then deal yourself 1 face-up damage card.

That would help higher ps more.

Except that a person with higher ps wouldn't let that happen easily, they can use their actions on the previous turn to keep out of arc or move in a way where your movement can't land range 1. Higher ps can take this card and use it a lot easier than lower ps could since higher ps moves last and now has control of the dial. I'm throwing more points to consider rather than "this card is bad/good" with no feedback

This is the opposite of fun. The choice of maneuver is the most fundamental decision for a player in X-Wing, and this takes that away. I know the QJ looks like it may have a card that messes with dials, but surely it'll be more limited than this.

Otherwise, you could throw it on a big ship and steer an entire swarm off the board. I'd take a pile of stress for that, sure.

No.
