Need help spending the last points in a Miranda Norra TLT-Y-Wing List

By fryxharry, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hi guys

I'm going to a small tournament next week and was thinking about bringing this list:

97 points
Norra Wexley (38)
ARC-170 (29)
R2-D2 (4)
Push the Limit (3)
Tail Gunner (2)
Alliance Overhaul (0)
Miranda Doni (35)
K-Wing (29)
Twin Laser Turret (6)
Long Range Scanners (0)
Gold Squadron Pilot (24)
Y-Wing (18)
Twin Laser Turret (6)

Now I've got 3 points left to spend and was thinking about these options:
- C-3PO on Miranda: I'm expecting Miranda to be my last ship in most matches, C-3PO helps her get there and survive long enough to either destroy the last enemy ships or win by points.
-M9-G8 on Gold Squadron Pilot: He can now aquire a target lock on either Miranda or Norra, helping them hit their targets more reliably, or aquire a target lock on the enemy's most dangerous ship to lower it's damage output.
-R3-A2 on Gold Squadron Pilot, probably with the title: Make Gold Squadron a Stresshog. This makes the Y-Wing a much more appealing target for the enemy, helping my regenerators survive to the end game, and gives me control in the form of stress tokes. Being limited to the main arc will mean the Y-Wing doesn't get to shoot at the target I would like it to shoot a lot of times, though.
- Replace the Y-Wing with Biggs: Makes sure my regenerators won't be destroyed in the first pass, while the enemy still has all his firepower. Apart from this, Biggs will contribute a lot less damage to the game than the TLT-Y-Wing.
- Vectored thrusters on Norra: I'm torn on this. Sometimes it's great, but using it means you're lowering your damage output. And Norra's all about damage!
Soooo... what do you guys think?

Hate to toss another choice out there but... Dash crew on Miranda is rather nice. Allows you to play hide and seek nicely with that TLT.

How do you find the long range scanner on Miranda with that build? I always found it limiting and I was unable to get the lock when I wanted it up close.

Dash's an interesting idea - never thought of him before..

Since i don't have any ordnance on Miranda I never need a target lock. She'll always focus when she's in range to fire at someone. Target locks are for when she's not in range, to get a little more accuracy when she's back in the fight.

I've played her with homing missiles and it wasn't easy to get the long range target lock + focus once in range, but boy does it lay the hurt on her target when it works.

C3PO on Miranda would be my choice. I also prefer the TLT-Gold to Biggs. This would not be a jousting list anyway, but a hit and run list where its nice to have long range turret on the board.

3PO is the best bet for surviving as it gives guaranteed mitigation of 2 damage per turn coupled with the regen.

Personally, I would replace Miranda with the following:

Warden Squadron Pilot

Sabine

Autoblaster

Advanced Slam

extra munitions

connor nets

seismic charges

37pts so you would have 1 left over.

Very fun to fly and very effective against aces. Last time I flew this I didn't need to fire a shot. The bombs and the threat of the autoblaster were enough to totally disrupt my opponents flying and allowed me to pick off his ships one by one. I was also flying the Norra build you have above but the Y-wing was replaced by Tarn with M9-G8

My opponent was flying Soontir, OL and X7 Vessery all with their standard builds.

Thanks guys - I think I'm going with C-3PO. I'd love to try a bombing K once, but I won't have time to practice and aces aren't very common in our meta.
