New Capital ship in Rogue One

I think its one of the pods6gybyw.jpg

Maybe I'm missing the Forest because of the Trees, but ARE those T65s? I don't see astromechs and they seem to be firing green lasers.

I don't think laser color has any meaning. If it did, nearly all lasers would be green or blue, as those are higher energy colors.

Those are definitely original series X-Wings. The lack of an astromech is easily explained away by limited resources.

No it is the INFAMOUS LOCAL BULK CRUISER

This is my idea of what we see in that quick shot:

It might be longer than that, but to me it reminds me more of the nose of a Nebulon B than any Mon Calamari. The ship in the trailer has a ring or something around the main structure, that is not there in the MC-80, so whatever that ship is, is not a MC-80.

Also, the platform we see, I might be wrong, but I feel like it's not a station but a gate for a planetary shield or something. Similar to the one in Spaceballs:

You know you're in a weird place when a Legitimate Star Wars Discussion includes the line Similar to the one in Spaceballs....

In the micromachine pack for Rogue One named "Imperial Attack" theres an MC80 esque ship if not an actual MC80, pretty darn close in look.

Why is no one else freaking out about the Y-wing that's the size of a capital ship? How many black dice does that thing roll? If you have enough bomber command centers can you reroll all of them?

Mostly because that's something that Micromachines does... Their Ghost Pack had a Ghost / Phantom / TAP all the same size, and honestly, my Kiddo didn't care :D

- Be more concerned that this is a promotional image, and in it, the Y-Wing is upside down in the finalised packaging....

The joke.

Your head.

No, no, I get it.

I was reflecting on the fact that just about every other forum is flipping out about that fact, and we don't care.

Was refreshing.

Oh.

I feel like a jerk now.

Don't.

No-one else feels like a Jerk when they call me out on some other crap :D

You shouldn't either.

It should feel liberating or something like that :D

Micro Machines quality has gone downhill. Back in the day the Star Wars Micros were pretty detailed but the latest that have come out with TFA and Rogue One are utter garbage. The Star Destroyers are just jokes.

I completely agree with mel's drawing of the new ship and also the station. It does look like a gateway to the planet. My guess is in order to get them onto the planet they have to go through the gateway and steal the plans...or its to bust them out because they sneaked onto the planet first.

It's Disney! It's the only answer! ;)

I have a question:

Which one of those CR-90's is the Tantive IV?

I have a question:

Which one of those CR-90's is the Tantive IV?

The Red Striped one.

As Red denotes Diplomacy / Consular.

Is that the 2nd CC shaped smudge from the left or the 3rd?

I don't know.

Which one is Red? :D

Taking all bets!

Which CR-90 will be the lucky lady!

I don't think Tantive IV will be there... you know... a senator's starship seen amongst the fleet of the rebellion wouldn't be very discrete.

You could be right.

I guess it boils down to how far we can send data like this... Is it like a holoprojection that can be sent light years, or because of the large amount of data is actually some other form of communication that requires proximity.

Plus, if Vader is taking part in the "first Rebel Victory" in Rogue One as we are lead to believe, he would at least have to know where the Tantive was in order to peel off from the fight and give chase.

Maybe that's why they end up losing? Vader splits the forces and leaves Krennic to get blowed up?

Of course, it's all wild speculation on my part.

According to ffg, it can receive and send at distance 1-5

Maybe the Tantive is held in reserve until the last moment, jumping in just long enough to receive the plans?

That was actually the case. In EU the Tantive received the data from the Bothans and was supposed to outrun the Imperials and then forward the information to the Rebel base, then disappear. In fact if my memory serves right it wasn't even the Tantive that was supposed to play that role, but something happened to the other hip and Leia jumped in. She was supposed to keep up the Imperial senator charade.

There are two scenes that needs to happen in this movie I think, in my own opinion.

They need a scene where the Tantive is on Alderaan and Leia hugs Bail Organa goodbye before leaving to deliver the plans. Tantive is in no way going to be shown as part of the Rebel fleet as its described as a diplomatic ship in ANH which only Darth Vader seems to actively question. None of the other Imperial Officers believe there is enough evidence to justify seizing an Imperial senator's ship so clearly no connection to the rebels.

Second it needs to end with Darth Vader on the bridge of the Star Destroyer showing the beginning of A New Hope from an Imperial perspective. That would be really cool.
