The Future of FFG and Imports from China

By Undeadguy, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

So this is a non-political post, but has ramifications from the election and going into the next presidency. Please leave out any political views you may have, as it is irrelevant to this post.

There has been a lot of talk about tariff increases on Chinese goods that enter the US. I think the majority of it is industrial related, but the tariff could be across the board, upwards of 40%?

Does anyone have a better understanding on how this could impact FFG? Perhaps an increase in game prices or relocation of their manufacturing equipment?

Hopefully FFG has a contingency plan in place already and there will be a seamless transition.

The question is basically already asked if things were going to change, come the Asmodee acquisition....

There are rumours flying around from multiple sources of how the supply chain is already intended to change, and due to Asmodee, may already be a little more Euro-centric in some operations...

Wait are you serious, 40% tariff!

BOOM Brexit wasnt so bad after all. Looks like a lot of tech industries may hop foot it over to Europe and the UK! WHoop Whoop.

Most likely for FFG it will mean that products wont be routed through USA if they can help it. The potential increase in cost in the US market will be balanced against the lack of increase in other markets. So there wont be a 40% uplift levied against sales in the US alone. I also presume the 40% tariff is against profits rather than revenue so effect will be minimal.

Profit = revenue - cost. (ish)

Well that's good news. I'd hate to see FFG get screwed in a trade deal that wasn't meant to target them.
