you know what would be cool? Point defense reroute going in the defensive retrofit slot.

This way, you could see ships with both PDR and QLT, making a potentially very good self sufficient anti squadron platform, which could break the squadron meta we've been seeing lately.

Plus, defensive retrofits need some love.

I would feel like I was performing dorodango on excrement....

Yes, it'll work, and it'll end up shiny, and some would consider it a work of art......

hey, I know PDR is poop, but I think the only way to make it good in its current (and quite probably forever) state is to let it combo with other, better stuff.

Thing is, as you say: PDR is just that bad.

ECM is Good.

PDR, even in combination with things, will never be ECM Good.

It would get played just as much as it does now, in the Defensive Retro Slot... Unless there was a lot more Defensive Retro Slots out there, or an Upgrade that Grants a Defensive Retro for 5 points or Less..... (And even then, you'd consider Cluster Bombs at that point)...

one has to wonder what FFG had in their minds when they designed that card.

You wouldn't Fathom the Light, if you had no Darkness to Compare it to.

I dunno, I've encountered a few instances where I wish I had PDR. It's bad only because it's limited to distance 1. Rhymer is the only time bombers aren't attacking at Distance 1, and from where I am it's been a while since I've seen Rhymer. Also, my capital ships are entering range 1 of their targets more frequently. It's not as if the card is a discard or an exhaust to use, which would make it crap like Cluster Bombs.

Quad Laser Turrets with Point Defense Reroutes would be nice, but the only ship in the game that can do that is the ISD-I. No defensive slot makes it a non-starter. :\

I don't know what I'd want for super special mechanics for Armada honestly. I'd love to see capital ships get more love, and maybe space stations do more than just sit there.

Well, you're getting Armed Stations in Corellian Conflict, Norse - so that's something :D

True, though do we know what they could do? I'm imagining XQ platforms with fleet support slots and the ability to command fighters like capital ships, with their own miniatures. That's what I'd like to see. But it's not something I can really see happening easily in Armada, since static emplacements is more of an objective thing than something you put in a list.
