Someone explain Fat Han with all the rerolls

By Izza, in X-Wing

Ok, time to educate an idiot. That idiot being me.
I saw the Han + Jake list at Worlds and thought "that looks cool"
But I'm not sure about all the upgrades on Han, I know you cant reroll rerolls. So why stack all the abilites that give a reroll? Pilot abliity, Predator and Luke. Is it to make the dice super reliable by reducing the pool of reroll dice as you go?
If someone could explain it to me, that would be great. Cheers

Predator allows you to reroll one (sometimes 2) of your die. So if you roll hit-hit-miss, you can keep the hits and reroll the one. If you roll hit-miss-miss, you use Han to reroll all.

Luke is just a redo of the above if your first attempt does no damage. When you only have 2 ships in your list, you need to hit every time, and Han, Luke, Predator almost guarantees it.

Luke doesn't give a reroll, he grants and entirely new attack if you miss.

Han makes you reroll all dice if you reroll any. Predator allows you to roll one or two. If Han has a range one attack and rolls hit, hit, crit, blank it would be silly to use his ability so you would use Predator instead. If Han had rolled blank, blank, eyeball, hit instead then you'd use his ability to reroll all the dice and not use Predator.

Han says When attacking you may reroll all your dice. If you choose to do so you must reroll as many of your dice as possible. I don't have the FAQ for n front of me, but is it possible to reroll with Predator first, then use Hans ability second, as long as you aren't rerolling a reroll. Not sure why this would happen, but it popped into my head.

You might do that if you have a focus token(rare with evade) and roll hit-focus-blank, reroll the blank and hope for something. If it's a blank again you can reroll the other 2. If it fails you still have the focus for Luke/gunner.

Yes you can use Predator and reroll 1 then reroll the rest with Han afterwards. The best reason to do so is to try to make sure you miss the first attack not just do like 1 damage. Say you roll hit, hit, blank and reroll the blank into another blank. You can save your tokens and use Han to reroll both trying for focus or blanks to trigger Luke.
