Regionals This Weekend

By shmitty, in Star Wars: Armada

Regionals kick off this weekend.

I am the TO at the Vancouver, WA regional and will be grabbing fleet list data there.

Is anyone going to the following?

Niles, Illinois

Fargo, ND

If you are can you please grab some information on who was there for the Regionals Data Project?

Information that is useful:

# of attendees

Rebel vs. Imperial

Fleet list of the winner

Full Fleet lists for the Top 4, Top 8, or all players

Matchups for each round

This can be shared on the forums or through e-mail, whatever works best for you.

I'll be at Niles. We'll see what I can do, but that's asking for a lot from a player who is not allowed to take notes during the event and doesn't want to meet a lot of new players as "that guy." I'd email Pastimes Games to see if they can provide that information to you, as they'll have it all available to them.

I'll be in Fargo, I'll try to capture relevant data.

Thanks guys, really appreciate it!

Most TO's seem willing to share the information when the tourney is all over. Don't worry as much about hitting up individual players for the info, that's a lot of work and I don't want you to be "that guy" either. Just see if the TO can give you an order of finish list at the end or the copies of fleet lists that they collect when it is over.

But this information is really useful to collect. I know that the FFG Devs do look at it and enjoy seeing what is being used.

I'll be at WA..... So no help to you

I will try to grab it for Georgia Regionals in December

The good way to capture info is to come to TO after last match (or once you finished your match) and ask to photo all (or top 8/top 16) list submissions.

Capture final standings sheet and now you have all the info you need.

I think JJ is heading to the Fargo, ND one.

My first post.... but been creepin' a long time.

I'll be driving 5 hours to Fargo, ND since we don't seem to really have game stores where I'm from in western N Dakota (or SD or MT or WY or heartland Canadia).

My curiousity is killing me... how many players would you say (ballpark) I should expect at the Fargo Regional?

Snipa, Church14 and I will both be coming down from Madison for the tourney and we can help with some data collection as well.

That would be nice, yes. Got a few guys coming up with me as well. I'll likely just ask the TO for the information post-tournament if (s)he doesn't mind.

I'm a local Armada player at Pastimes (Niles). I'll be there Saturday and I doubt our TO (another local player) will mind gathering the info or allowing others to gather.

Oooh, maybe you can answer this, then. What are the chances that it spills into Sunday? Like, I know the Facebook page has 17 going/8 interested, but do you any better of an idea? The 2 day commitment thing will be totally new for myself and several others, if that's what it comes down to. And some of us start work at 2 am on Monday, but live more than a few hours away.

Kind of pre-mature, but I'll be at the AZ regionals next weekend, I'll get you the deets for there

I will be a the AZ regionals next weekend also, but sandwitching the tourney between 2 6 hour drives, so don't expect any coherent details from me until after the weekend :)

I say his only out of legitimate concern for both yourself and others, and I don't mean to be pedantic or judgmental. Caffeine can get one really far, but a $50 hotel is just such a much safer option. For you and the people sharing the road with you. Unless you're carpooling, which I really hope you are.

And I'm sure you're a responsible adult capable of making informed and smart decisions, but in my lines of work, it never hurts to get input from others (it's actually often required). Everyone is a safety officer

This is the way to do it. They'll have the documents for all the standings and matchups right there, and the tourney will be over so they shouldn't be super busy anymore. You can parse through it all later, just get legible snapshots of everything.

Sorry, wish I could provide some insight but it'll be as much of a surprise to us as it will be to everyone else :(

I'll be up in Fargo as well. Will likewise help out in gathering data. After all, for science!

I will be at the Florida Regionals next weekend. Ill see if I can get some info for you.

Anyone have the regional link handy?

I have one for Friday night, but it's work and drive out (get there midnite-ish), then tourney and drive home Saturday.

Same here.

I am playing around with the idea of going to another Regional later in the season, though. Maybe Vancouver(BC) or Lost Wages.

I'll be at the AZ Regional. Glad we have a couple people from the forums joining!
