Having them sold at GenCon would be ... frustraciting. On the one hand, having Uthuk out by mid-year is awesome. But then, I won't be at GenCon, so I hate the thought of waiting until December while other people are playing with Uthuk. It's bad enough to miss the launch day, behind your faction's pseudo-release is just putting salt in the wound. Still, I hope these will come out sooner rather than later.

Yeah, it's not ideal for a lot of people. On the plus side, when FFG does sell product early at Gen-con it is usually only a few weeks away from stores. I don't even know if they will wait that long for the new factions, it's just that's kind of how they have run it in the past for X-wing and Armada.

No its not

I was in agreement with the first post but you made me look hard. Right enough there is a new figure hidden at the back of the red Waiqar faction on page 15!

You mean this guy? Kyndrithul?

Interesting.

EDIT: He appears to just be a direct proxy of his Descent miniature. The pose is the same, the base is slightly smaller than Ardus, and his figure is shorter, which is all in line with Descent figures. This has been discussed in some length in this thread:

The Uthuk Y'llan are a given, I'm thinking we may get Kyndrithul, Latari Elves 'extras' to match the other factions, the barrow wyrm previously mentioned and Waiqar The Undying himself/itself due to there being an image of him along with the image that sparked theories about the barrow wyrm, both in the lore intro to RWM. Without spoilers it would actually not be too far fetched to find Kyndrithul alongside Ardus based on Descent, even if that was a bit of painter's artistic license. The painter may just know something we don't or was just indulging a whim but it wouldn't be off-lore. There may be a vampire faction though (unless these get merged in with Waiqar as a generally undead lot serving Waiqar's cause!). The Mistlands setting of Descent's Mists of Bilehall / The Chains That Rust seems to have been a starting point for much of RWM, so Zarihell may also make an appearance along with some of the other monsters from those sets (Runewars launch announcement: "For years, the armies of Waiqar the Undying have stayed within their borders, launching only minor raids across the border. But now, a nameless threat stirs within the Mistlands,...", those Descent sets also have a Waiqar / Mistlands theme)

I've compiled a units by faction list to partner this product list: https://community.fantasyflightgames.com/topic/247371-faction-units-complete-list/

Updated for Wave 0

Question 1. Who/what is the 'hero' on the poster for The Uthuk Y'llan (I could probably find out by looking through my games but am a bit pressed for time at the moment he says as he searches the games online for insights, ha, procrastination wins again ), as that's likely to be their core box hero as the other three core heroes are shown with their faction. I'm thinking it might be the red character on the right in this Banners of War picture (still waiting for them to reprint that expansion! Maybe they will now the Latari are back in vogue!) https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2014/11/7/banners-of-war/ An Obscene? https://boardgamegeek.com/image/1169342/runewars-banners-war

Question 2. If I'm right that we might get Waiqar as a tougher top-level hero (probably later when there is a strong counter force as he'd be tough to beat), any thoughts on potential even more powerful heroes for the other factions, perhaps a named demon for The Uthuk? Do these other factions have a similar 'top-level' main leader in their lore?

For some other slightly (very?) creepy prospects for the demonic Uthuk this could hint at what we might be getting: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2015/1/13/make-them-bleed/ I'm certainly expecting we might see a Doombringer in their introductory set. If so and if it can burrow that could be interesting tactically...

Ravos the Ever-Hungry. You can barely see him in the second image in the link below.

Yes, he leads the Obscene.

Thanks Parakitor. Ravos is not someone to get into a rules argument with!

Unless the scale is whack in this, could he be a Large hero?
Thats kinda disturbing to think about. Right now heroes seem to have 4 wounds (except 1 elven hero has 3 for some reason) and either average armor or a rule that compensates (somewhat) for lack of armor. Basically, statwise, theyre like 3x the basic infantry. A large hero would probably be a beast, having either a ton of armor or wounds or both!

I think there is a very real possibility that he will be a large unit and perhaps he may be a heavy-upgrade for infantry units instead of a champion upgrade. Of course, there is also the possibility that they make him smaller, but most artwork depicts obscenes as being bigger than the average man, and Ravos is supposed to be the leader of the obscenes by virtue of being the biggest of them all.

EDIT: In the images below, you can see that obscenes are often depicted at being about twice the height of Daqan soldiers. FFGBT01_M4.jpg pic1898930.png

Added Kyndrithul as a rumor's product based upon the Army Painter guide. Updated the product status for each product. Also added a new section that will keep track of all Promos, for those OCD completionist like myself. :)

I wonder if that means we'll see Lord Hawthorne and Ankaur Maro before the Rune Golems and Lancers?

That would surprise me a little.

Well it still says "On the Boat".

It looks like the escalation promo cards are alternate art cards for the Reanimate Archers, Carrion Lancer and Spearman.
