Good evening fellow Admirals!
I am currently developing a 'legal' Imperial Fleet that I have lovingly titled the Imperial Event Horizon Fleet. A bit ostentatious however, the no escape mentality is a part of the Imperial Doctrine is it not?
I am in need of some constructive assistance and thoughts on how to properly outfit a fleet that packs a punch, keeps enemies within prime firing distance while providing protection against the Alliance's Ace squadrons. With the latest releases, the rebel's have some serious piloting abilities in the form of Hera (The Ghost), 'Dutch' Vander, Luke Skywalker, Hobbie and Wedge to just name a few Ace pilots.

As you evaluate the fleet, a couple pieces of food for thought:
1. I love SDs in Armada however, they are a big target and the represent a large threat. They will be targeted. They will take damage. So, I am curious if I should swap 'Captain Needa' for the 'Engineering Captain' in order to better protect this flagship?
2. You'll notice that I haven't fully fleshed out the fleet with all the available points. This is on purpose because I am waiting to see how many points I will need to add the Imperial Shuttle and maybe some TIE Defenders to the mix... Any thoughts for rounding out fighter squadrons that will play a duel roll: keep the Rebel Aces at bay and to be an extension of the capital ships in the fleet and bomb enemy capital ships if called upon to do so if a capital ship is lost during battle.
3. I have added a Raider with some enemy squadron targeting enhancements. I felt that this addition would also play a duel roll, a fast capital ship that can attack other enemy capital ships (and keep them slowed with it's tractor beam) and squadrons alike.
I would certainly appreciate any thoughts, considerations and/or adjustments to this developmental fleet build. Thanks everyone!
