Best 2 person team

By Psylence Fiction, in Imperial Assault Campaign

Been looking through the forums and don't seem to have found anything about this. I'm mainly going to be playing my campaigns as 1 vs 1. Should be picking the game up around Christmas time and as usual when I play things like this like to look into things first and try and work out some tactics/places to start.

What successful 2 character synergies are there?

Is there any combos that just don't work at all?

Any other restrictions I need to think about?

If it's not too hard, try playing as 4 heroes.

The game is much better balanced for that...

As for 2 heroes, try Fenn & Gideon...

Try to avoid 2 heroes & just play 4 heroes. Yes it's more stuff to keep track of at the end but it's worth it (for fun and balance)

A lot of the missions isn't balanced with only 2 heroes. You'll have situations where Rebels can't do much because map is so big, or Imperial can't do much because the Rebels are literally impossible to wound

Same as what everyone says, try 4, but if not, do Fenn and Garkhaan.

I'd echo 'Play 4'. Or at least play 3, even if one of them is Gideon.

If you really want to go for two heroes, I'd say Fenn and Diala. Fenn is probably the most self sufficient character in the game, you can basically give him a gun and have him shoot stuff. Diala is a good support character who can still be a solid fighter when the need arises.

Yep. A lot of missions will be much easier with 2 heroes and only some are much harder with 2. At least try to play with 3 heroes if you can't do 4. 3 is already a big improvement, although there are some missions that should be easier with exactly 3 heroes.

But also note that the first campaign will be a learning campaign and you'll certainly make some mistakes - both with rules and selecting options/heroes/class cards/items.

Cool so just have the rebel player controlling 4 characters it is. That's good as there is a few characters I like the look of.

It's not too much to keep track of at first, but just keep in mind that as the Rebels gain items and skills, they'll be juggling considerably more information to keep track of later in the campaign. Luckily, that curve is pretty gradual.

Also worth noting there has been a few changes to how some of the characters work, as well as some re wording of the rules for clarification. So don't forget to check out the FAQ on the IA page.

This has me curious, are the newer versions of the game coming with updated cards for the RG's?

To help the Rebel a little, have them play with Gideon and Fenn. That way if they feel overwhelmed later, they have good dps and support.
