“Heretic’s Match” Incendiary Rounds

These ungainly shells and arrowheads are filled with promethium or other highly incendiary materials, and ignite with immolating fire on impact. Few heretics can withstand this fury of the righteous made manifest.

Effect : A weapon using this ammunition gains the Flame and Unreliable qualities, and loses the Blast quality (if it had it).

Used With : Bows, Crossbows, Shotguns.

Availability : Scarce

Question : Was an error made where it reads that the weapon loses the blast quality? Should it say that it loses scatter? Is there any Bow, Crossbow, or Shotgun that has the Blast quality?

Not that it really makes that much of a difference as far as potency goes. Adding the Flame quality to a gun is pretty amazing either way.

From a look through the Core Rulebook and Enemies Within/Without/Beyond there doesn't appear to be any Shotgun/Bow/XBow with the Blast quality, however there also doesn't seem to be any Bows/XBows that I saw with Scatter either. There doesn't seem to be any special quality that Bows/XBows/Shotguns all share. Both XBow and Bow obviously have Primitive, but no Shotgun I've seen has it. The only Bow/XBow/Shotgun I found other than the ones in the Core Book is the Purgatus XBow which only has Reliable.

There doesn't seem to be any quality that they all share, so I have no clue what it was meant to be/if it was an error :S

I would say > its the SPRAY quality... (it loses that since you are shooting an arrow or crossbow-bolt)

I would say > its the SPRAY quality... (it loses that since you are shooting an arrow or crossbow-bolt)

But no Bow/XBow or Shotgun has Spray in the first place...

It's the separation of old "flame" quality into Flame and Spray that's causing the problem. Most flame weapons also have spray, but in this case mentioning that there is no spray is essentially redundant, as none of the weapons concerned had it.

This means that the weapon loses its Scatter quality -- instead of firing a blast of shot pellets, the weapon shoots a single incindiary shell. It's not written correctly, but that's how I interpret it.
