So I picked up a TIE/SF....what now?

Blowing up on the approach isnt bad if you think of the sf as biggs

Esp if youre escorting more late game ships in, such as aces or x7s

More expensive than biggs, sure, but they hit a crapton harder which is why the enemy might focus them

Otherwise you gotta leverage the weird flying your aux arc allows you to do while still getting shots off

Coming out of the games I was looking at ripping the missiles and Tomax out and what I could do with the 37pts that gave me then realised that Rey/Poe wasn't the matchup they were in for. I need to run against Defenders with these boys as thats what the Tomax/Homing build is aimed at, and I still won an awkward matchup. I've no changes for the time being.[/size]

I flew Bren, Backdraft, Ryad at Worlds with 3-3 record, including 100-0 vs Palp Defenders, so I believe that your build has legs. If you can spare a point I would add tracers to Quickdraw as a counter to Black One.

Could downgrade Pattern Analyser to a second Primed Thrusters I guess. Worth having in the back of my mind!

Personally I have found the SF to be a joy to fly. I have flown Omega Specialists with VI, FCS, PA, Title in pairs, Backdraft with VI, FCS, PA, Title, and Quickdraw with Trickshot/DTF, FCS, PA. It's a great ship for 29-34 points that really packs a punch. PA and FCS together lets them take fully modified shots all the time. They are a little squishy but will live long enough to do some work.

The card I wish was doubled in this expansion is Collision Detector...which should always be used on every ship that has an un-used systems slot (especially B-Wings). I flew 4 B's at Worlds to a 3-3 record, and the CD's definitely saved me quite a few damage. But I can't make myself buy 4 SF's just to get the cards, so I borrowed 2 of them... ;)

Also probably the only ship that'd ever use collision detector.

Sensor slots are pretty mean. Ships that have one dont ignore that slot, ever. The 4Bwing list is the only one that does and thats because you dont have the points otherwise and it doesnt help that particular list that much.

At first I did not plan to buy the SF, because I could not really imagine how to use it, but recently I did buy it.

I'm gonna try this:

"Backdraft" (27)
Wired (1)
Fire-Control System (2)
Primed Thrusters (1)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
Special Ops Training (0)
Colonel Vessery (35)
Juke (2)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
TIE/x7 (-2)
"Omega Leader" (21)
Push the Limit (3)
Comm Relay (3)
Stealth Device (3)
Total: 98
Juke on Ves should make my opponent consider shooting at Ves to disable Juke. Omega Leader with Stealth Device is something my opponent does not want to face after losing his first ship, so he is an option for my opponents first shots.
In the unlikely case that Backdraft dies on the first turn of shooting, it is probably my fault by flying poorly and the enemy still has some tough ships against him.
