ZEARC Build

By Vastoom, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Heres the build.

Corran Horn Ewing

Rage, Proton Torp, BB-8

Shara Brey ARC 170

Wingman, R7 Astro, Tail Gunner, Title

LT Blount

Lone Wolf, Adv Homing Missiles

The Idea is that Corran and Shara pair up and Corran hits Hard using shared target locks and if needed Rage then uses BB-8 to green maneuver and barrel roll away (if that works. Im still pretty new.) Meanwhile Blount is out there with the ability to pass out a face up damage card.

So what do you think?

The problem is, rage dumps 2 stress on you.

The following turn, you can't barrel roll when you reveal your dial (because you're stressed) and when you do a green move, you only drop one stress - so you're still stressed and still can't do actions.

Rage is good, but it's generally best on someone disposable (academy pilot via Youngster) or someone who ignores stress (Tycho) or can dispose of it during a turn (Keyan Farlander or Electronic Baffle Quickdraw).

I thought that might be a problem. I was hoping that due to bb8s ability I would still get the free barrel roll allowing me to reset an attack run while the arc covered the retreat with its auxiliary firing arc. Any suggestions to Improve it?

I honestly think that this EPT should have given 1 stress and had a cost of 2pts.

Designed in that way, it's a cheaper PtL that's better for attacking (for Gunner reasons) but worse for defense (can't evade or arc dodge) making it infinity less flexible. I have no idea why they decided to have it deal 2 stress, making it a corner case toy rather than a mainstream option.

I guess FFG is scared of releasing any "broken" EPTs, since that's the slot that almost every ship has access to, but in a world where PtL exists, what harm would a 1-stress rage do? Yet another missed opportunity.

Well Rage was honestly a 1 point fail safe to ensure Corran hits hard enough to put his target down. Its there in case I don't have a target lock or Shara isn't in range.Although I do have a question though dose it modify up to 3 dice each time you attack or just once?

any other suggestions?

Corran is much better if he has regen. Try dropping the proton torps on him, replacing BB-8 with R2-D2 and give him an EPT of your choice. Preferably Push the Limit or Veteran Instincts. He also works great with Fire Control System, giving you independence from Shara and action economy. .

Also Rage allows you to modify 3 attack dice per attack, so Corran would trigger it twice.

I like the action economy on Corran and regen is always a good thing plus its only on stress to clear.

SO I played this list and it started out pretty much like I thought it would. The Z95 fanned one way and scored a face up damage card and crippled one of the opponents large base ships. (I think it was Latts) Corran and Shara stayed together and did a triple tap on one of the others. then mid game saw the Z95 return to block and Corran go one way to de stress and Shara go another way. The surprise of the game was how much damage the ARC can do on it own. Corran was on shield regen and still the main target while Shara was doing flybys and fitting from both arcs. Though I feel that it still needs some refining I like the way it worked out.

you could as swap lone wolf for wingman and keep Blount near Corran to help shed the stress caused by useing Rage
