Okay I have come across some terms that I don't recognize.
What is a Nedly player ?
Is there any other slang exclusive to AGOT ?

lol, I didn't knew it too :-)
longclaw during our game for OCTG2 tournament expained it to me.
Since Magic there were terms to identify stile of player.
In AGOT also... Nedly means player that like cards that follow books.
So one char that in the book it is week and in the game it is strong it's un-nedly.
One un-nedly card is of course carrion bird... :-)
Ps I lost against longclaw but increased my dictionary ;-)
Cool, that's what I figured it was. Guess I am Nedly.
me too!!! :-)
but usually I'm attaching nymeria to a char different that arya... so maybe I'm not too nedly ;-)
It goes back to an early developer post about how cards were designed. He broke players down into three types:
Ned: Fans of the books and want to recreate scenes from them, or at least the feel of the books. Using Shae to kneel Tyrion, for instance.
Jamie: Could go either way, but IIRC prefers interesting card interactions.
Shagga: Wants big power cards, like War Host of the North, above all else. Screw story, want gory!
Jaime is a hard core CCG player who dosn't really care about whether or not a card replicates the themes form the books. He will do whatever it takes to win.
A Shagga likes new mechanics and interesting card interactions. He doens't care if he goes 0 for at a tournament as long as he gets his fun combos off and gets to play an interesting theme.
ned - yeah - he wnats the immersive Westeros expereince and enjoys cards that mirror what happens in the books.
I remember that moneylender came up some day talking about the terms "Bob" and "Ploy". I took some time for me to find out that he was talking about Robert Baratheon (CS version) and the Princes loyalist.
And i do remember a little story from my star wars ccg times. An ebay seller offered DVD LOTS and he was asked which kind of DVDs and how much of them he would want to sell in the said auction. The seller wrote back that it wasn´t his intention to sell any kind of DVDs, because he was about to sell Darth Vader, Dark Lord Of The Sith a card from the Star wars ccg (special edition).
Oh and there used to be a lot of other misleading game slangs, just like DOS (daughter of skywalker), SOS (son of skywalker) or simply nonsense phrases like TDIGWATT/PIDAIAF (this deal is getting worse all the time / pray i don´t alter it any further) or SYCFA/TUPITU (set your course for alderaan/the ultimate power in the universe). If you would like to spent the time visit decktech.net and try o read some of these star wars deck lists. :-)
boy, was there a lot of slang in SW
