2016/2017 Regionals Season Results

Findsmen are interesting because they fit in interesting ways with Mindlink.

I have really very little idea of how wave 10 will impact the meta - there's definitely some very potent stuff there, but as ever, my suspicion is that the stuff that seems loudest and shiniest and scariest... will actually mostly not have THAT much impact, and the things which seem pretty quiet but add hugely to reliability will be big.

I'm feeling Captain Rex being something of a sleeper hit.

The Findsman were pretty much all in one list I think so got to be careful not to overreact to them topping the list.

Made me dig my G1-As out from the back of the cupboard though.

Are those numbers per ships or per list who runs at least 1 of those ships?

Per ship, so one list of 3 Wardens is counted as 3.

2 if I recall correctly. The all findsmen list that won and one that used one of them who placed well.

Western Australia had it's regionals last weekend at Stratagem Cards and Games in Warrick. There were 49 players and the top 8 look like this:

Nate Sobejko (Winner, 9th in swiss 4-2. 8th seed dropped allowing Nate to sneak into the top 8 and take the overall win):

38 Vessery w/ Expertise, Mk2, X7.

36 Ryad w/ Expertise, Mk2, X7.

26 Omega Leader w/ Juke, Comms.

0 Initiative.

Ryad with that setup is 37 pts though?

And Vessery's 39.

I'm guessing maybe neither of them had mk2.

He's 38 with Twin Ion Engines. :)

35, +4 +1 -2

I've been a bit underwhelmed by Rex in initial tests on vassal. His ability is good, but the fact that it only sticks if you continually attack the same ship without them returning fire on you restricts its utility pretty heavily. Also, when it all comes down to it, he is in a Tie Fighter, meaning a) he isn't doing damage to most meta staples, and b) he is dead quick.

I do think he might make appearances alongside some Kanan/Biggs shenanigans, but I don't think he will see as much play as, say, Ahsoka.

Good catch, it was a typo. Ryad didn't have Mk2 engines, only Vessery had it. I imagine Nate figured that Ryad's green forwards + K-turns were enough for her to deal with stress, but Vessery needed the extra help in case of a stress-control match up.

To me Rex is just a cheap filler ship you throw in to block with. Your opponent then either swats him down, in which case he's absorbed some fire to keep the rest of your squad alive, or better yet they ignore him and his ability then becomes annoying. If you're already taking a bandit/Prototype to block with, the extra points for Rex is worth it IMO.

Yah, Kanan/Biggs/Rex/Zeb is what I'm thinking. Fortunately you can't get all four AND a TLT on Kanan. But even with Dorsal it's gonna be nasty.

I don't think Rex is gonna be much cop without Biggs to shield him, but there's a LOT of options with Biggles around. In particular I'm thinking of Maybe Biggs/Rex/Roark/stuff, so Rex is shooting at PS12. E: yeah, Biggs/R4D6/IA, Rex, Roark/TLT. Leaves 35 points to play with and makes Biggs a lot more survivable. I'm thinking Jyn or Jan on Roark and maybe an ARC with M9G8.

If you just want a cheap blocker, Zeb is better than Rex I think. His ability gives him a decent chunk more survivability than the average eyeball.

It is neat to see the Gand in the data; I've always thought this was an underappreciated ship.

I am wondering if there were common loadouts for it. You can do some interesting combos with crew, system, illict spots together on a scum ship. With the right cards it can have some of the least predictable movement in the game - PtL + adv sensors + BR + boost + cloaking with 3 reds and 8 hits to boot. I like 4-Lom to ditch the stress. Expensive but fun. I toyed with taking one with Kath to the Seattle regionals, but settled on Kath & Bossk then ended up not being able to attend. ?

There were 4 Gand Findsman, 3 of which appeared in the same list. They were kept cheap - Attani Mindlink, Fire Control System, and Mist Hunter where avilable.

You don't spend points on the Gand that do anything other than immediately drop to the bottom line of hits/evades rolled.

Here were the 3

Recent Toronto Regional with some interesting games on stream. The full video is available on the vttvlive channel but they're also uploading individual matches.

Bilbao (Spain) regional is this weekend, and between the Attani horde horde there are some pretty interesting lists in the Top 16. Hello A-wings.

3- Roberto Pérez: Palp + Carnor + Defender
4- Víctor Rubio: Brobots
5- Miguel Ángel Cela: Dengar + Bossk
6- Javier Hidalgo: Rey + Corran
7- David Luís Lozano: Attanni Asajj Fennaroo
8- Andoni Abril: Attani Asajj Fennaroo
9- Luís Martínez: Palpafenders
10- Joel Guillamon: 3x A-wing aces

What was the triple A-wing list at number 10? You don't see that kinda list too often!

Farrell-Tycho-Gemmer with PRockets, AT, title, PTL and, for the first two, VI.

The 16th are three Greenies with Crackshot, Snapshot, title, chaardan and AT, along a Wild Space Fringer with Intel Agent, anti-pursuit lasers, smugling compartment and the hacking illicit.

How would you get Rex in a Kanan/Biggs/Zeb build. I am trying to make him fit without making Kanan useless!

I believe Parattani is the #1 seed at the Connecticut regionals here in the north east USA. Cut is being played out today I believe. Not sure on other decent lists. I know the Howard bros are there at least so likely some palp/aces in the top cut!

Played against him 2nd round with my 5x ZR. Came down to the last and last shot miss on Manroo. He plays the list really well and it was an excellent game!

What's the word on the Phoenix regional?

Hydralisk101 I love that you went with 5 Fangs, how did you do overall?
