So disrespectful, cut my name off at #20 :P

James flew:

"Deathfire" (17)
Extra Munitions (2)
Homing Missiles (5)
Cluster Mines (4)
Long-Range Scanners (0)

Colonel Vessery (35)
Juke (2)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
TIE/x7 (-2)

Countess Ryad (34)
Push the Limit (3)
Twin Ion Engine Mk. II (1)
TIE/x7 (-2)

This is the list that won (I think?) a couple of the first European regionals just after Worlds. I <3 this bomber - Deathfire is a real box of tricks!

I've played almost this exact list. It's great. Deathfire is a terrific Imperial pilot.

He is phenomenal for the 26-28pts. Biggs effect that can put in serious damage to anything. I played James in the second round, and I went straight for Deathfire, he survived with 1 hull, got a crit on my Ketsu that deals all damage faceup , then next round was setup perfectly for a cluster mine, lol. Ketsu ate 4 faceup damage cards :( Was not nice!

I love Deathfire. To be honest, if he survives the first engagement with one hull and can get off one missile and a tasty cluster bomb then he's normally done some good work (plus he cannot be left alive so soaks up at least one of their attacks next turn). The only problem is, more experienced players do their utmost to not let him live past that first engagement...two green dice and no shields means he won't always last!

His ability is the Imp equivalent of Advanced SLAM, which is sooo important for threatening space with that Conner Net.

Now I've got the refrain for an X-Wing themed parody of a Tom Petty song stuck in my head.

Thanks.

Finally someone notice the Quadjumper....it is an amazing ship. Nearly the answer for a lot of meta problems.

Except for TLTs, torpedo boats, deathrays or something that shoots at it.

No problem with that. In fact, I hope so.

Have a scum Biggs is great

Tractor tokens do wonders against every TLT carrier except the Ghost.

Sadly, the struggle is getting into range to put the tokens on...

He played the same list in another regional before the FAQ and ended up #9, not making the cut only due MoV

Despite that I'm not sold on it thought. I feel most of his success depends on the novelty and surprise factor

I think most of his success comes from Bossk with delete button option, and fenn rau killing what bossk left. And that quad is just a nuisance. Difficult target priority, ideally you should kill bossk in two rounds, but fenn comes from flank blazing 5 dice attacks against your tractored ships. In capable hands, this can be quite deadly.

Ya Bossk + Rau is just insanity levels efficient. It really doesn't matter what you put in the 3rd slot. We have seen a seismic torp scyk even fill that last slot in some really successful lists.

I don't mean this negatively, but I think you may be mistaking the notion of novelty and surprise factor with, as mentioned above, target priority. Don't deal with the cheapest ship in the bunch and the other two are going to hit very hard. Try to get rid of the tug and he's been a Biggs for the other two while they hit the hardest. It's a nice list that requires some skill, but I think it's potential is pretty clear.
