Top 4:

Final:

8: Philip Booth (Brobots) v 3: Hart Shafer (Manaroo, Asajj, Fenn)

Phil Booth takes down the title with Worlds2015 BoothBots!

No video at all, sadly.

Anyone have the above Guri Fenn Manaroo build used by Drew Bishop? I can't seem to find it in List Juggler.

Chicago Regionals are up on lj http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=2570

Pimpattani took it down. Everything (including my pathetic loss in the top 8 match) was recorded on Gold Squadron Podcast's Twitch Channel.

Palob Godalhi + Twin Laser Turret + Attanni Mindlink + Vectored Thrusters + Gonk
Asajj Ventress + Attanni Mindlink + Latts Razzi
Fenn Rau + Attanni Mindlink

I was sorry to see that. Looks like we're both cursed to never venture far into the cut!

Thanks again for the top 16 game, well played. It was a pleasure.

I don't suppose anyone knows the final results for the Orlando Regional this past Saturday? I left after getting knocked out in the first elimination round, as it was 10:30ish and we hadn't eaten since 3.

Best I can give are 2nd and 7th seeds, 75 players with a top 8 cut.

Bryan Zeno(? I'm awful with names) 2nd seed

Dash Rendar - Lone Wolf, HLC, Title, Recon Specialist, Smuggling Compartment, Counter-Measure, Burnout-Slam(I'm not sure on this one, as I don't think he ever used what was in his illicit, I just know he had smuggling compartment)
Warden Squadron - Sabine Wren, Extra Munitions, Seismic Torpedos, Conner Nets, Cluster Mines, Thermal Detonators

Myself 7th Seed

Omicron Group Pilot - Palpatine
Countess Ryad - PTL, /x7, TIE Mk II
Colonel Vessery - Juke, /x7

That Warden was nasty, especially since I've not really seen one that wasn't Miranda and wasn't prepared for what it could do, and Dash seems to officially be a curse for me as he was in the list that knocked me out in the first round of top 8 in 2015, but he flew both very well.

Warboar Regional in Bromley (London, England) - 90 players

lists for the top 16 as well as a few others are all in juggler:

http://lists.starwarsclubhouse.com/get_tourney_details?tourney_id=2577

winner was Bossk Ketsu

Runner up Kwing Bombers with Biggs

top 4 was Paratanni and another Mindlink list with Ventress, Fenn and Palob

many games were recorded and will be up soon. the final was incredible, with both bossk and ketsu on only 1 hp at the end.

Kyle ran against my parattanni the round before in our top 16. Kept fenn away with the miranda threat and ion bombed manaroo and lit her up with dash. I lost 47-48 cause in the last bit he put half damage on assajj. Very fun match and he just plain outplayed me.

Too bad we didnt get to do the mirror on the stream!

Does anybody have the results from the Colorado regional?

I didn't face Drew directly but I saw some of his games in the cut. (I was really hoping he'd take out the Phil's Brobots since that was my one loss in Swiss, but alas...)

I'm 95% sure it was:

Manaroo (27)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
K4 Security Droid (3)
Unhinged Astromech (1)
Anti-Pursuit Lasers (2)

Fenn Rau (28)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Autothrusters (2)
Concord Dawn Protector (1)

Guri (30)
Attanni Mindlink (1)
Autothrusters (2)

Total: 99

I can apparently now answer part of my own question. Full list of top 8 lists for the Orlando Regional at Cool Stuff Games Waterford. Winner in the end was Travis Cooper.

That's copy and pasted from a post on their FB page, and has at least 1 error(I was 7th, not 8th seed) but should otherwise be correct. Lots of Asajj, only one Imperial list, and three very different rebel builds.

EDIT: This may actually be the listing of actual final placements rather than seeding for the cut? 1st and 2nd were 1st and 2nd seeds going into it though so it's hard to tell.

How many attended the event?

76, full for the venue. Had zero no shows too as far as I know. Placed 12th myself, only losing to the first and second place in Swiss. The event was run really smooth, especially because I think the store has never hosted such a big X-wing event.

It was actually 75. There were 76 signed up and 76 lists submitted, but someone turned in two squad sheets.

I've built on the tables I posted a few pages back and put a blog around them:

The saddest game I've ever seen: They could have flipped a coin before starting, it'd have been the same :D

Gonna stick with my statement in the systems open thread that, yes, Dengaroo isn't winning many regionals simply because players are bored of it. When it gets brought in force, it's still a tier 1 list.

There was another contender for that title in the same Top: a Boba-Ketsu fortressing 40 minutes  against a triple K.

To be fair, that is the best strategy for winning that match up.

Yaaaa it's about time K-wing lists start thinking about ways to deal with fortressing. It's a super simple (although awful for the game imo) way to deal with a popular archetype right now. If you want to win no matter the tactics necessary (which most players at that level of play do), there is little reason not to fortress, knowing the alternative is getting mauled by a plethora of bombs.

Having said that, at least in this case the salvo was even on dice so the K-wing player could have also chosen not to engage. The major issue is when players who have more attack dice in their pool of ships are fortressing (not that this scenario isn't painful to watch either).

Yeah, but is still quite sad to watch :(

Ya I only skimmed the video but it was painful to watch. The K-wing player looked like a cheetah that didn't know how to catch a gazelle because it wasn't running. Dropping bombs all around the fortress, only to be tractor beamed right on top of them... Should have just stayed away and played the dice. Grabbed a bite to eat maybe even lol.

Edited by Kdubb

Absolutely! There are a lot of crappy games to watch. Quad TLT is by far the worst offender, and people running streams still put these awful games on, which boggles my mind.

We may hate fortressing as a tactic, but you've got to admit it was a brilliant move in this matchup.

I didn't see anyone mention the Australia regional.

WINNER - Jaren Foss IMPERIAL (100)
Carnor Jax TIE Interceptor (34) Push the Limit + Royal Guard TIE + Autothrusters + Hull Upgrade

Rear Admiral Chiraneau VT-49 Decimator (66) Predator + Darth Vader + Gunner + Kylo Ren + Dauntless + Engine Upgrade

Haas anyone tried SLAMming all 3 K-Wings into the fortress? One of the ships won't be able to shoot if you can hit it with all 3 K's, then it's 3v1 on the other ship until they finally break formation. (Obviously Ketsu throws in a small wrinkle in that she can tractor one ship away to be shot.)
