I'm so happy the System Open Series is coming to Seattle!!

Well, that's great for that small segment of the population.

Only three in Europe

Seriously? They still didn't put one in Australia? Sad.

Think they put one too many in the US. Especially with an international player winning worlds this year, and with the massive showing at the system opens outside of the US, I think there needs to be more push towards making this a Worldwide series and not a "US + some select others" series.

For the 2017 System Open Series events, we will also be using a new stipulation: the Distinct Rule states that each of your squads cannot use any of the same ship models, pilot cards, upgrade cards, or unique names as your other squad.

That distinct rule kinda ruins any use of Attanni Mindlink...

EDITED: ER....read that very wrong. Thought it was all within a single list. MY BAD

5 in the US, 3 in Europe. Thats it...... FFG getting cheap this year????

Indeed. I agree!

"worlds"

Europe, also known as The Outer Rims!

But, thats under the "Hanger Bay Events" so I don't think it is in effect for the main tourney......

AND, its squad vs squad........ So yes, Mindlink works....

I super love that the one in Texas is the same day as a Regional event in Texas.

Oh wait, I meant to say hate.

Well, I guess I'll be able to watch the Coruscant Invitational at Celebration next year. I was kind of hoping there'd be some kind of open event.

There was only one in the US last year, right?

That's pretty good coverage for the US tournaments this year. I'm expecting San Antonio and San Diego will be popular since they are decent vacation spots for people that want a break from winter.

Yay, who scheduled these things? The one in California is in the same day as a freaking regional that WAS ALREADY ANNOUNCED MONTHS AGO. I am beyond pissed right now. Glad they increased the amount, but seriously?

And seven (+Coruscant) in EU. I can agree some of those felt a bit redundant, but jeez.

Yikes. That is pretty rough. You can't ask the regional to change with it being set in stone that long, and there is little chance this date will change either, but it might not hurt for everyone in the area to contact FFG ASAP and let them know about the conflict.

Thats very unfortunate. You should probably email them or make this much more apparent to FFG in some manner. Likely means they would force the regional to reschedule potentially.

I agree there's probably more than are needed in the US, but I LOVE that htere's one in seattle. Living in Alaska, there's actually a chance I can convince my wife to let me go to seattle to play at one. Pretty much anywhere else in the country simply wouldn't happen.

Yeah the UK one is the same as one of the UK Regionals lol

I'll be going to the Open, so I'm all happy. But MAN there is some salt in the FB group about the choices of venue. My word...

I do have to say I am STOKED that the winner gets to design a card. I really love that FFG is doing that. Really shows they are putting this on scale with Worlds, as it should be.

Same with Yavin, scheduled the same day as the Cardiff regional...

Considering how many were in the US last year, I don't see how anyone can complain that there's more here this year. Especially if they alternate back and forth every other year.

I do think they really need to have one in the AU/NZ area though.

That is some terrible planning right there.
