Am I the only person that HAS to give titles to everything?

By Hersh, in Star Wars: Armada

Every single one of my xwings is a Mr, Mrs, or Dr. Isn't that annoying.... no, sorry, wrong titles.

Seriously, as some of you may have noticed if you surf the other Star Wars forums here, I am VERY thematic. If it isn't thematic, I won't play it. Just the way I am wired, (ummm, OCD anyone?). That said, EVERY single cap ship in my fleets needs a title. Now, I don't play Armada competitively, but, I find it can hamper things sometimes, (spending 5ish points on a title I will never use for instance). Mind you, most of the titles are useful, just some I would never use. It can be irritating as my opponent asks why I took a title and trying to explain it.

So, am I the only one who does this? There has to be more of me out there.

I understand it. Most times I bring a ship is because I want a certain title on it. I don't always have titles, or put them on everything, but I usually try to.

All my ships get names. My squadrons? Not so much.
EDIT: Not as in title cards, but I do name them.

.. I. have. No. Idea. What. You. Mean.

I. Would. never. be. That. Pedantic.

(I'm usually the opposite - I'll take Titles very sparingly - I prefer less 'unique' and more 'my own'.... But some ships scream it for any amount of battlefield effectiveness)

Since I don't do Tournies, yeah, I know the feeling.

If I did tournies, I might feel different as well, but, there it is. Dras and Fourdog, I may try that. Not giving them Titles, but names. See if my hind brain can accept that. Thanks

Actually, I keep hearing about how awesome the FFG tourny scene is. I may have to try it. The whole of my Tourny experience has been with GW and most of you should be aware of my feelings there

edit: for clarity and a second thought, (I have trouble with more than one thought at a time)

I'm with Dras on this... typically I try to avoid "unique" anything just because I have always been more interested in creating my own story instead of playing as Luke or Vader.

So watch out for Sir SluggyFreelance... no I didn't think of that name on my own, but dang he's been a Bad-A.

Party. I think that may be part of the reason I LIKE the titles. It isn't Luke or Vader. Again, it's the anti GW. I can custom a unit without taking the BIGGEST BADDEST IN THE REALM, type thing.

I tend to like uniques because if feel that their ubiquity makes it more likely to see them in battle.

I use titles quite a lot, as I seem them as some of the best value for points upgrades around. If I can use the titles to their best I will always take them. I dont NEED to take them on every ship though.

I always start that way.

Then inevitably I need to shave a point here or there, and there goes Jaina's Light or Dodonna's Pride ...

I very often go through a stage in list building where I'm looking at titles and deciding if I spend the points or not.

Taking a Glad and not including Demo... a CR90 and Jaina's .... So very hard not to say no to that kind of thing.
