After a successful evening of putting my new T-70 pilots on the table, I decided to look into squads using the new YT-1300 from Heroes of the Resistance to bring to next week's game night. Being a huge fan of The Force Awakens, I had to use the Rey/Finn combo, and was looking for a second crew member. I've seen a lot of talk about Kanan Jarrus, because it's all but certain Rey will have a focus to spend modifying her Finn-enabled rerolls. But my squad only had room for 2 points, and I really like my squads to be thematic wherever possible. So I looked through my crew, and there he was: Han Solo!

Amazing! He pairs perfectly with Rey's ability to reroll blanks! And he actually flies with her and trains her (a little) in the movie. I gotta say, I am certainly impressed with the designers fitting Rey's ability so nicely with a card that came out years ago in a Huge Ship expansion pack. Well done!

Now, this takes a bit more planning than Kanan, because you don't get a free focus with the new Millennium Falcon title S-loop unless you save your TL from a previous round, so it's probably not as competitive, but it sure is cool! Forgive me if somebody has already posted this before, but I had to share it with somebody.

P.S. If you are facing a stress meta, Ezra Bridger is another decent crew for 2 points to modify [focus] results, but he is decidedly less thematic.

White Sloops are a lot of fun but I like the fluff of Han and Rey flying together.

Well, it sounded cool when I was squad building at midnight. Guess I should sleep on that.

EDIT: Well, I guess the advantage is that you can hold onto it from round to round if you don't need it, so you could have it on rounds where you don't get to take an action. But Kanan beats Han in just about every contest. Hey, I didn't say it was good, just thematic.

My favorite part is that Han was basically made for Epic, but here you've got a standard list that can actually use him.

Oh, another great use for Han Solo is if your meta is dominated by Palob Godalhi or Carnor Jax. But again, those are corner cases, and probably not the norm. I mean, you could just as easily argue that Captain Kagi or the Black One title make Han Solo crew a bad investment.

I also like Han crew on an Autoblaster turret, FCS, Lothal. Not thematic, but really nice to have if you don't need the two points to go up to chopper pilot.

Indeed. Using Han and Rey essentially means that target locking has the effect of target lock & focus.......but it's the "other way around" to normal - most people have the focus token and get rerolls from Predator (or Dengar or Lone Wolf).

Whether Rey & Han work well depends on whether you find it harder to hang onto a focus or a target lock.

• Target Lock is nice because it doesn't expire if you don't use it, and doesn't care about Palob Godalhi, Hotshot Copilot, or Old Teroch
• Focus is nice because it's not target-specific, and doesn't care about Countermeasures, Black One, Expert Handling, or Manaroo

Focus is better because defence.

Rey pilot is made to work best with Finn. During attacking and defending (when in arc), he adds a blank result, and Rey can reroll up to 2 dice.

So Finn or Kanan with Push the limit and new title are the most amazing combinations here. If you have just 2 points left, I would rebuild the list

You're not wrong, but it does bother me sometimes when there are combos that are so good that you only see the pilot kitted out one way. Especially when you try to make a themed squad. There are plenty of pilots in the game already that are cookie cutter built in every squad, and it makes me sad that one of Rey's auto-include crew likely dies before she was even born.

for the most part han crew is wasted because you are limited on targets for the same effect of a focus.

There are a number of ways to mess with a focus token now though, so he might be a valid option for Rey. And to my knowledge the only way to discard TLs is via Black One, Expert Handling, Wes, Countermeasures, or epic stuff.

If Old Teroch is common, then han crew is a great idea because he cant do diddly to rey now. He only removes focus/evades.

4LOM crew iirc doesnt do anything to TLs

List goes on. However none of those are uber common, just not trash so they may appear once in awhile.
