I wouldn't mind if even if they didn't bother doing a cut...and just had a 4 game day followed by a 3 game day. I traveled far to get there and frankly just want to play higher level competitive games. With people dropping it becomes essentially a cut in all but name. I only signed up for the one event at registration time and for the investment in hotels, travel, etc... 7 games over 2 days would be great! Can always have top 2 at the end of all that as well. But odds are anyone who managed to make it through 7 rounds of swiss has no longer slid through playing against lucky winners...that usually ends around round 3.

I'm completely agree the top 2 each day just didn't work well or reword more of the great play that was out there.

If they went to everyone playing on day 1, say 4 rounds then on day 2, start making a progressive cut top 16/8/4/2 that's better. But, I like the idea of everyone starting day 2 for at least one round, because who wouldn't stick around and watch the remaining matches and enjoy cheering their comrades on?!?
