Lost My Lists!!!

By Stasy, in Star Wars: Armada Off-Topic

So, my phone was turning into an absolute brick in the last month. I couldn't make it to lunch time without being under 25% power, and it was just slow. The M8 I've got isn't more than a year and a half old, so I knew I had to try to give it the factory reset option.

Well, the backup tools from Google and HTC worked brilliantly. However, the X Wing Squad Builder and Armada Fleet Designer apps both failed to properly backup the data. And I've used the Armada tool successfully before when upgrading (basically it wouldn't unless you deleted the app). So here I stand... no history of my previous lists in both games.

I'm torn. I think the fresh start without eyeballing past lists may be helpful. But that being said, I had a few lists for both games that I felt worked very well (or had just never tried yet). Actually had updated two Armada lists the day before I wiped the phone too. ****.

Quick, What was the logic of the lists! What made them special?

You dont need the lists themselves, what you need to record is the understanding that went with them.

I think a lot of my Armada lists were hot garbage filled in with lists inspired by ones I went against (and I liked) . Ultimately, I think losing those lists was healthy. A fresh start is good. I really was a sucker to keep working a Reb and Imp list over and over as I played against myself tweaking to get my best list vs my best list. I clearly was not that good given my 2016 showing in Regionals, I still was having fun.

X Wing on the other hand... I had several that took me to top 10 in all sorts of tournaments including regionals. And quite a few I wanted to try when I got the last of my Wave 9 stuff in. I'll just have to re-create those. Honestly making X Wing lists is WAY easier than Armada lists.

I had about 50-60 lists that I list when my phone went kaput. At first I was bothered, then I realised that a lot of them were for old waves, and no longer relevant.

Mostly I realised how much I like building lists. Within no time I had another 30+ lists based on different concepts.

Just embrace the darkness.
