Read his 2014 writeup (article name is "victory is mined"), that list operated on many of the same principles.

As far as i know. Personaly, I'd replace one Cluster Mine with a Conner Net, but thats one of the things I'd love a writeup for, because I am sure he considered that, too.

I could see making the switch to something more like sables with 1-2 conners in there, for defenders. Its the kind of list that needs lots of practice to get down.
The world needs more Sable Gryphon.

On a side note, when referring to a ship that can take both bombs and torpedoes, we really can't just write seismic in a list with out defining whether we are talking charges or torpedoes.
I'll see about putting together a full write-up. To answer the question, no, I would not consider replacing a Cluster with Conner. Cluster is so much better against Defenders. Since I don't have turrets, there's no way I can capitalize on hitting a defender with conner net.
With one Cluster Mine, I did 6 damage to a 5 health Vessery because I called his K-Turn. Had I not pinged him earlier, it would have one-shot him. I would have to have hit him with 3 consecutive Conner Nets to do the same damage.
