The Invincible Biggs?

By Ryedub, in X-Wing

So me and my friends have been trying to theorize on the best, most troll, way to put Biggs on the field. With the upcoming wave ten we've put together,

Biggs Darklighter (25)

R2D2 (4)

Integrated Astromech (0)

Captain Rex (14)

Blue Squadron Pathfinder (23)

Fire Control System (2)

Seismic Torpedo (2)

Jyn Erso (2)

Jan Ors (2)

Pivot Wing (0)

Tactical Jammer (0)

Gold Squadron Pilot (18)

M9-G8 (3)

Dorsal Turret (3)

Can you do better?

Biggs Darklighter (31)
X-Wing (25), R2-F2 (3), Stealth Device (3)

Ahsoka Tano (23)
Sabine's TIE Fighter (17), Veteran Instincts (1), Sabine's Masterpiece (1), Captured TIE (1), Jan Ors (2), Black Market Slicer Tools (1)

Kanan Jarrus (46)
VCX-100 (38), Fire-Control System (2), Recon Specialist (3), Jyn Erso (2), Tactical Jammer (1)

Kanan moves and Jyn Erso action, tossing Biggs multiple focus, Jan Ors turns one to an evade.

Biggs moves and R2F2.

Ahsoka moves and focus.

In combat, Ahsoka uses ability for Kanan to focus and get two with Recon Spec.

Biggs, behind Kanan with tactical jammer, stealth device, and R2F2 is tossing 5 green dice (6 at range 3) and has focus and evade token. Plus Kanan is reducing two attacks.

:P

I might actually try this if it weren't for that FAQ on Biggs... :P

I don't think the FAQ has hurt Biggs as badly as some people assume. By providing a work-around, opponents have to chose if they actually put the effort into trying to circumvent Biggs or not. Previously most people simply burned down Biggs as quickly as possible but now they need to decide if they actually want to split their fire and that can lead to mistakes.

Letting Biggs live another turn or two makes it viable to actually consider putting R2-D2 on him when pairing him with Kanan since he might live long enough to get benefit from the little guy. Now opponents may manage to shoot something other than Biggs with some of their ships meaning that Biggs lasts longer to become a nuisance later in the game when he may be more critical.

Plus as long as he is alive, he can actually shoot! He ain't just ablative armour you know. ;)

Karhedron is correct, Biggs also can kill. Go Biggs!

Sounds like we're working on a PSA here.

"Tell your kids about the danger of Biggs. #BiggsKills"

If you're using "classic Biggs" with R4-D6, then an ARC-170 with M9-G8 and a Weapons Engineer is nice. M9-G8 forcing your opponent to reroll dice is not that great at turning hits-or-focuses to blanks (25% chance) but it is very good at turning a critical to not-a-critical (88% chance).

Which is good, because it's the "two hits and a critical" result you inevitably see which ruins R4-D6 as a defensive mechanism. (It was originally intended as heavy laser cannon insurance, I believe)

the faq really only nerfed biggs against nondeadeye ordnance. How often do you see that?
