A company for Phantoms?

I really want to field two Phantoms, so:

"Whisper" + Agent Kallus + Fire-Control System + Veteran Instincts + Advanced Cloaking Device [41]

"Echo" + Recon Specialist + Collision Detector + Veteran Instincts + Advanced Cloaking Device [38]

Now there are 21 points left for a third ship and I'm kind of lost here. I guess it has to be a decent blocker, so I'm thinking about Epsilon Squadron pilot (PS1 TIE/fo) with Comms Relay to increase its survivability. This build leaves me with 3 point for initiative bid which seems important having in mind that both Phantoms love to fire and cloak first.

What would be your pick for a third ship in this list?

I'd go with Wampa+ Hull upgrade for 96 points

You could get a TIE shuttle packing an Intelligence Agent and your choice of 3 point crew.

I like your phantom builds. Your remaining sliver of points should go on distraction/flanking imo, so.... one of these take your fancy?

You could go for a doombomber for 19pts, if you want to draw fire from your phantoms. (2pt ini)

You could go for howlrunner for much the same effect (2/3pt ini)

You could go for a procket/title/gc sienar for area denial (1pt ini)

You could go for an AT Alpha for blocks and annoyance (1pt ini)

You could go for a scimitar with lrs, em & plasmas for a cheap biggsish ship (0pt ini)

You could go for an AC tempest for a great all round ship that can block, tank and hit normal ships (0pt ini)

You could go for HU Backstabber to annoy & flank (2pt ini)

You could go for Zeta ace with PT & Crackshot (1pt ini)

I'm quite partial to the AC Tempest myself.

Scourge at 17 pts. Shoots after the phantoms so his ability will likely be activated if he attacks whatever they targeted.

i would use a ship to control the enemy, such as the tie shuttle with Mara and/or tactition, i dont think you can take palpmobile but if you can take a tractor beam i would

I'd have to say one of three things . Like you said, a blocker, or, a support ship, or finally, something to grab attention.

So, as a support ship, maybe a Tie Shuttle with Intel Agent and Fleet officer, to give extra focuses or whatever. Or, to get attention, Epsilon Ace, which goes at PS12, and a tech of choice. That would take my eyes off the phantoms for sure. The shuttle with Vader would work wonders for that, because you can't ignore it.

Yeah, doombomber is a great 19pt ship, if you don't mind it dying real quick! It's always satisfying to see your opponent having to shoot at it instead of your main threats, just to put the mad dog down :D

It still stands in for blocking duty if you come up against the wrong list (double lothals, for example), but is hardly ideal for the 'revenge of the tlt' meta that seems to be shaping up.

I'd actually prefer a LRS scimitar for that reason. At least the fella's going to soak up tlt and fire a plasma simultaneously with a y-wing.

Y'know, an AT alpha inty might not be a bad bet, as it's turret defense compliments the phantoms, allowing it to get stuck in while the phantoms try to manage range. Would need some testing...

My double phantom list always used an academy pilot for blocking (along with a healthy initiative bid). Just hope you don't encounter dengaroo or you are in for a really rough time...

What's nice about the doombomber is that it's not only a good ship, it's a HUGE aggro magnet. Unlike the Lambda, it can move, and that's tough to work around, because it's now easier to get those Vader shots. And the really big impact is if they go to kill the TIE shuttle, they have 2 named Phantoms running amok everywhere you want them to go.

TIE Shuttle, Mk 2 Engine, Intel Agent and Rebel Captive?

If you go with a shuttle its likely to get focussed. The captive at least makes them think about that decision slightly and it helps the Phantoms.

A Vader/Captive shuttle sounds like fun.... oh I'm going to try this.....
