Modern Dash/Corran?

By TitaniumChopstick, in X-Wing Squad Lists

I've always been a fan of Dash/Corran, but VI Corran has always felt a bit too weak for my taste. Therefor, I've come up with this:

Dash- Lone Wolf, HLC, Rey, Outrider (52)

Corran- PTL, FCS, R2-D2, Engine

What do you guys think? Better than standard Dash/Corran? Does it stand a chance in the current meta?

Worse than Standard Dash/Corran, and it doesn't stand a chance in the current meta.

Against many lists, you won't be able to bank as many Focus tokens on Rey as you need to maintain relevancy. And, once you're out of Focus Tokens, you're now unable to use Dash's ability with any great effect -- if he lands on an asteroid, he either has to reposition off to allow an unmodified shot, or he sits on the rock and doesn't shoot.

Also, you have no insurance against Dash's Donut Hole -- a barrel roll isn't enough to keep him safe.

The Corran is fine, but Dash, in my opinion, isn't worth running outside of a "Super Dash" format.

Caveat - I never think Lone Wolf Dash is worth it. I really feel he's an "all or nothing" ship.

I agree, I would rather go with standard Super-Dash (Kanan-flavoured) and build a 42-point Poe for company. You lose the double-tap but gain better protection against BMST and have higher PS. Something like this:

58 Dash (36), EU, (4), HLC (7), Title (5), Kanan (3), PTL (3)
42 Poe (PS9) (33), R5-P9 (3), Autothrusters (2), Pattern Analyser (2), Lone Wolf (2)
