I believe the computer game has had upgrades with additional

Hopefully... we're already missing Lost Souls and Bruisers/Hunters/whatever those big guys are called
Most hopefully, but at the rate it's going at probably not
Oh well.....
Didn't you know? Tibs made some amendments to the existing miniatures and added lost souls and bruisers/hunters/whatever-they-are so they got the strengths that is similar to the PC version. He also made Episode 3 (Another 5 scenarios, 11 to 15, to continue where the expansion left off) with a Spider Mastermind. Somewhere in BGG if I can find them again.
Im sorry to say guys, but they have given up on DOOM: tbg
I started with DOOM, and it was a great game, but then they released Descent, and it was the same style with the same engine, but better in every way.
When i bought the Tomb of Ice expansion a few weeks ago, i noticed in the catalog that they dont have DOOM anywhere in it. I imagine they want to focus on other things. The likelyhood of another expansion are slim to none.
However, DOOM will always have a place in my heart as the first
Even if they give up on making expansions, they should leave this forum open. Doom isn't dead yet. We still got Tibs making new Expansions and Miniatures
Woah woah woah. He's making miniatures too or do you just mean the stats for potential miniatures? It's a shame they didn't add a files section here (for the Doom players only) to make things easier for players to get his releases.
This was discussed just before the forum change but there is a super slim possibility that Doom4 might bring about an expansion. Honestly its very doubtful but I'll stick with my wishful thinking. At the very least we can get a community expansion made or something. We just need to find the right cardstock.
You know what I'm going to have winter break soon from school so maybe I'll try and make some minis.

Tibs made the stats, he also made the miniatures for himself, obviously he can't mass produce it for all of us
I agree that it is a shame that this game will not be supported with another expansion - although I too still live in hope that it will get one once the new computer game has been released.
This was the first FFG game I purchased and I still love it! Yes I now have Descent and I love that too, but Doom is such a cool theme. The only way I get to play much nowadays is if I convince my fella to play and he is more in to science fiction than fantasy - in fact the main reason I bought the game was so he would be interested in it. I tried him with old games like Hero Quest (Milton Bradley now out of print but well supported by fans on-line) and Dungeons and Dragons Board Game (Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast, now out of print too) but he has never really been into the fantasy theme or played fantasy computer games like I do. He did play all the Doom computer games however, and still plays similar ones (FEAR etc) and he really got a kick out of Doom the Board game.
Sadly we do not have as much time to play as we would like and more often have a quick game of Arkham Horror, but Doom still gets more plays than Descent in our house.
Wow. "...better in every way." I don't think so, and I know a lot of people who feel the same. For me Descent is really bloated and getting worse. I think it would be a shame if FFG gave up on Doom. Maybe with Doom 4 on the near horizon they will be a renewal of interest in the board game.
After getting back into board games last year after a long break (6 Years) Doom was my first purchase and i have been hangin out for another official expansion. But i think ffg have made it homeless which is a real shame
"Sigh" Excellent beer and pretzels game and easy to learn and a heap of fun! If i win lotto ill pay for them to make an expansion or pay for someone to "persuade" them to do it!
I have to think that id Software is helping making Doom "homeless". My guess that Doom is being dropped is because of licensing issues. Not to say id is being pricks about anything, it's just more expensive to create Doom than say new add-ons for Descent.
I, honestly, want an Advanced Campaign for Doom (which is why I'm creating one
) but would love to see one more "official" expansion with extra minis.

I'm kind of relieved Doom is not expanding. The products they gave us are great as is. I like Descent, too, but it's getting unwieldy...too many rules, components, cards, etc. Doom is infinately replayable as is. Plus, how many tiles do we really need? I mean, the bigger maps take so long to play. I like smaller maps. Quicker to play and marines have better chance for survival. Anything else we want to add to the game is not too hard. Like lost souls. D & D made a flaming skull miniature that I use for lost souls. The flaming skull is green, but it still serves it's purpose. Any other beasties we want to come up with can easily be created or purchased with a similar miniature.
The "expansion" I would really like from Doom is not necesssarily more goodies (i.e. minis, tiles, rules, etc), but really more Missions. Kind of like that Quest Book for Descent they're putting out this summer. I mean, you can only play the Missions so many times before they become boring. Space Hulk had this problem, once it was no longer officially supported, no new missions came out, and so eventually you played the game 3 times over and then never touched it again.

We don't really need new rules, but extra monsters and map props would be sweet. Doom's core engine is rock-solid and needs no further rules fluff. Descent might be more sophisticated and polished, but they ended up ruining its simplicity with the gazillion expansions and new rulings.
I think you'll find that any work to expanding DOOM will actually be going into GEARS OF WAR THE BOARDGAME.. There's no details about it that I can find other than on the upcoming page.. but I can't possably imagine it being anything other than a DOOM port... maybe DOOM with knee high walls that pop up all over the place...
Actually if they make the tiles compatible then we could make hell on earth maps.
I'm content with what I have (base and expansion) with the only thing lacking being miniatures for new demons. If anyone here plays either warhammer game could you check to see if the skull trophies from Chaos would be a good size for the lost soul. If they would be a suitable miniature then I could make a bunch relatively easily.
If some really good tile art comes around I'll actively search for the right thickness cardboard.
Its unfortunate that Kevin can't release the expansion he's sitting on, but we have Tibs so I'd say it evens out (except for the miniatures).
