The "missing" stuff

By Alisair Longreach, in Star Wars: Edge of the Empire RPG

This thread is about what we think the game is missing and what we hope is included in future books. Which species, equipment, vehicles, starships and other stuff that still needs to statted up.

I will start out with these species: Zeltron, Kubaz, Clawdite, Bith Givin, Cathar.

Starfighters: Khiraxz, that ellipsoid TIe-fighter the Inquisitors from the Rebels cartoon flies around in, the Eta-2 Actis.

Starships: The Imperial Raider from the X-Wing game, that triangular Imperial carrier from the Rebels cartoon. the Executor-class Star Dreadnaught.

Force powers: that Speed power Mace Windu and Darth Sidious uses that is described in the Revenge of the Sith novelization.

Lightsaber Crystal: Corusca Gem because Jacen Solo got one in one of the Young Jedi Knights novels and because out there is a group of Jedi wannabes who is going to play through Jewel of Yavin and get that big jewel and splinter it for their lightsabers.

Still Jawas! :)

The second aspect of Jedi Battle Meditation that allows the user to create an image of their enemies fighting one another and it happening seconds later. This is an aspect of Battle Meditation Nomi Sunrider was particularly adept in, and she used multiple times during her early training, first against a pair if Hississ who were about to attack her young daughter, and again against a group of pirates attacking her Master's home, trying to seal some Adegan Crystals for Bogga the Hutt.

My character Korath has used this ability multiple times back in D6 and D20. I need it for his F&D incarnation too.

The Venator-class destroyer.

Do we really want Ewoks?

Species: Arkanian and the Arkanian offshoot.

A non force sensitive investigator.

A non force sensitive investigator.

I am 96% certain we'll get this in No Disintegrations.

I was so surprised the Khiraxz wasn't already included in the Core book. Even more surprised that Fly Casual or Dangerous Covenants didn't add it. It is so fitting for the EoTE setting. No Disintegrations should definitely add it.

I would love to see some more source books for regions relative to EoTE. Lords of Nal Hutta is one of the best books for the system. Also I would love to see a full book dedicated to modular encounters. Making use of those really cuts down on my own writing time :P

Definitely Zeltrons, (do we not have Bith already in any line? I haven't checked but it would surprise me greatly if we didn't), a shooty-talky-clever spy "agent" spec, a martial artist spec, Human Replica Droids, a specialized heavy-duty fabric tool kit that grants a boost die on making reinforced clothing and padded armor templates and a black die on everything else, and has enc 3 or less. A new upgrade (or new Special Embellishment's option) for armor crafting that makes at least reinforced clothing (and maybe padded armor) "banal" (a free rank of the indistinguishable talent, effectively what "banal apparel" from desperate allies does), MOAR cybernetics, and sneaky weapons. A glide cloak (as in Batman's cape in "Batman the dark knight" might have also been in batman begins )

I got most of my Force & Destiny wishlist in the "Sentry-Spec" so I'm not going to ask for more there, everything else F&D is gravy from now own. The only thing I would like are tapani saber rake style lightfoils (ghetto lightsabers)

The Venator-class destroyer.

Do we really want Ewoks?

Isn't the Khiraxz in an upcoming release. I though I saw it mentioned in one of the announcements.

It's missing...

More time to play!!

My game has a Zeltron in it. The Inquisitor hounding the group!

Also made a TIE-Advanced.

Off the top of my head, things I'd like to see:

Species - Ewok, Bith, Gamoreans.

Ships - ARC-170 starfighter, Imperial Raider, TIE Advanced. Droid starfighters too might be nice. Maybe some guidelines for creating uglies?

To be honest, most everything I'd want is already available in some form (or I could make it myself), but these are things that it'd be nice to have.

Official Imperial splatbook

" that triangular Imperial carrier from the Rebels cartoon"

Stay on Target, Page 61, Quasarfire escort carrier.

Fully detailed Pontite crystals with costs, base qualities, and mod options.. The only Pontite crystal given is the one in the Greelwood lightsaber in Nexus of Power , and I don't know if that's a fully modded crystal or an unmodded one.

Thank you. Thisis why I started this thread, to list the missing stuff and to help help each other with identifying what we thought was missing.

I will start out with these species: Zeltron, Cathar.

We definitely won't see these.

Bear in mind that Disney's edicts only permit 'official' stuff, so we won't see anything official from the EU or the Old Republic unless it's also in the movies or cartoons. So no Miraluka, Rattataki, Arkanians etc.

It is, however, possible that Disney might bring these EU elements into their canon as they did with the Chiss.

Actually, the Zeltrons are part of the new canon already. One of the younglings that Caleb Duun (AKA Kanan Jarrus) trained along side as a boy was a male Zeltron . He appeared in the book A New Dawn by John Jackson Miller, who has gone on record in his production notes on is blog stating that the boy in question is a Zeltron.

There were several characters who are clearly, from description, nonhuman -- but we didn't name their species on the page. There are many situations where it's better to be matter-of-fact about how cosmopolitan the galaxy is; Skelly's supervisor is a Muun and young Caleb Dume's sparring partner is a Zeltron, but those were both cases where the facts of the characters' species were not really on the point-of-view character's mind. You don't really want to mention something if you're not prepared to break action and get into detail. (A separate case was Zaluna's friend, Hetto, who began in my mind as a Rodian. Realizing that the character Tseebo was coming in the television series, I decided I didn't want to imply any connection.)

I'm never likely to watch the cartoons so I've no idea what and what isn't part of Disney's canon.

But my point stands; we won't see anything that isn't 'canon' in the RPG. For the first two years, the game drew quite a lot from the EU. The last year however, seems to have only included the official Disney stuff.

Also, I'm not certain that appearances in books and novels will be enough to make something official, to be honest.

I don't think that even one vehicle from special modifications is canon. X-Wing Wave 8 had 4 canon and 2 EU ships. One thing is for sure: We have tons of new stuff in canon based on the Dave Filoni series and new movies. And naturally stuff from canon is in higher demand than stuff from the third string legend novels or computer games. This applies to all star wars merchandising, but especially to the RPG in context that Rebels and The Clone Wars are basically RPG-Party stories. For sure you take the stuff of Rebels which features a Mando, a PTSD clone wars veteran droid, a clone wars clone veteran captain, a jedi and his apprentice, the "last" warrior of his race and the twillic freighter captain and later ace and commander of a rebel squadron. It basically my star wars group without the mando and instead a murder bot and verpine hotshot before we evens started to watch Rebels … naturally you take anything from that show and use it for the game.

I'd like to see the Acclamator -class assault ship and maybe the V-19 Torrent . I'm indifferent to a Clone Wars ruleset, as I think it could be done well enough with the existing classes, but there were a lot of cool ships used by the GAR and other factions around the end of the Republic.

My concern is that since ships have so few characteristics, there's really not a lot to differentiate them as it is. Add in a bunch of new ships, and they'll all start to run together with just a point in this characteristic or that to separate them. To a lesser extent, that's also my biggest concern with introducing too many species.

Does anyone else feel the same way?

I'd like to see stats for the: Gladiator Star Destroyer, Imperial Raider Corvette, Havoc H6, G-1A, YV-666, IG-2000

I'd like to see cards (like the NPC cards) for ships and weapons

I'd like to see more tokens sets and maps

I'd like to see a Corporate Sector book

I don't like tokens because I feel that they take away from the storytelling aspect and then it becomes something like D&D 4.0 (atrocious!).

I would definitely like to see Clawdite (maybe no disintegrations?) and Delphidian. I really want some more EU species, but Disney seems to be choking off creativity on that point

Also, do we have the starfighters the Mandalorian Protectors used in Rebels when they were fighting Hera's squadron?

Re: Tokens

I like them because they enhance the cinematic atmosphere of the game. I don't use them all the time, but they are fun to use on a map and it's not like the game slows down for people to measure out how far they can move, it just helps track where everyone is and they look great!
