Appalling Luck - Stories of the less Amazing.

Hi, my name is Ginkapo and I dont value reroll upgrades such as OE and leading shots as I roll hits first time.

Oh, wrong thread

4 interceptors with howlrunner and fc...I did 2 damage...

I have a solution, that will solve all your woes, my friends!

Star wars dice app!

At least when you roll badly, you will know it is due to absolute, pure, randomness!!

(assuming ffg did a good and proper random program for it) ;P

Or pour your unused points into dice-adding upgrades like EA

You going to pay for a Smartphone first>?

Samsung have a good deal for you.

Failing that a 7" android tablet would do the trick.

Amanal's Trying To Kill Me.....

My worst luck was actually the opposite of most of these. I had an ISD II with Konstantine and phylum tractors, chasing a Gonzati, bottom of Round 5, with a table on the line. I rolled all hits and crits in round 5 and 6. Not a single accuracy in 16 dice. That stupid flotilla hyperspaced away. Ended 6-4, thanks to Contested Outpost.

The Emperor was most displeased.

Last game I pushed two x wings into range of interceptors with Howlrunner. A third was already in range. Cue the Yavaris double tap. 24 dice later I had gotten two Interceptors to a single hit point, and had lost one x wing, burned both of Jan's Braces, and had two more X wings at one hp each. When my next several BWing activations ALSO failed to kill interceptors, I conceded the game, having only Keyan left, even though I hadn't lost any ships yet.

Did I mention it was while using the Dice App?

Well, its hit a few threads (and for that, I do apologise)...

But We'll start the care and share circle.

I am Dras, and I am statistically abysmal.

My most famously lopsided die rolls were actually captured on a DiceHate stream

Its not just the fact that I am cold... ts the fact that my apparent dice frigidity makes the opponents luck over-compensate and roll the streaks!

I maneuvered my Ackbar Assault Frigate, on the 2nd turn, around to the side-to-rear quarter of an Enemy Moncal, after having savaged it with my other assault frigates... I was very lightly damaged...

My last assault frigate activates, and rolls...

BLANK

ACCURACY

To then rub salt in the wounds, the enemy MonCal, at the start of the third turn, edged its shot against Ackbar's broadside...

DOUBLE HIT

My Lone Evade, the only token I could use properly, rerolled a Double Hit... Into a Double Hit...

So, I was lucky. They'd done their big shot first... ECM'd the Brace to use it, Took 4 on the lightly damaged side (which still resulted in a face-up Structural Damage card)...

... The ignomity was then, the rear rolled (withthe Confire)

Double Hit

Double HIt

Into that damaged side, hit my Redirect, and even with the brace... Ackbar detonated with a second Structural....

Top of 3. Ackbar's Dead.

I went on to lose that game by 22 MOV... With his last ship on 1 Hull damage... After playing without Ackbar and the additional dice he would have added for Three Turns....

Even if I roll "Okay". My opponents are Hot. If I roll "Garbage", my opponent might only roll "okay".. But its "enough."

I can't even.....

16 straight blue dice and all were accuracy but 1, which was evaded and re-rolled, to an accuracy.

@Dras, I have an entire ecosystem out to kill me, what harm can a phone do? Blow my head off. :D

I survived said Ecosystem for 28 Years of my own life, Amanal.... Risk Management was something well drilled into my youth :P

From Melbourne? Even the drop bears were too cold and too wet to do much more than gnaw on your legs. 'Bout as scary as it would have got was Skippy re-runs.

(I did say I ASSUME ffg did a proper job with the random number generator. After all, they wouldn't actually allow it for official tournaments if it were messed up)

Two APT MC30's with full close range broadsides (different targets). Both with CF dials, and CF tokens. Both with OE. ANY APT PROC would have popped a ship, bumped my activation advantage and neutered my opponent's (Justin, actually) ability to push all of his squadrons.

For those of you counting, that is thirty rolls of the black die.

No. Crits.

0.01786% chance to whiff thirty times, or 99.98% crit chance.

Then his Luke turned around and double-tapped for two hit/crits on Foresight, and then did it again the next turn to pop a CR90. Goddammit.

Please, I was not a City Boy... I was a good 5 hours from Melbourne. Almost closer to Sydney...

Sure, we didn't have the Irukanji or the Stonefish - but as a kiddo, we certainly had the Blue Ring and the Great White.... So I call it a wash.

It was my opponent's great misfortune rather than mine, but: we played twice in two weeks. My APTs drew projector misaligned three times, dropping 3 shields each time. Dodonna was not involved.
