Unless they just haven't counted EVERYTHING yet, besides the obvious Palp, that's quite the diversity with everything else under double digits in terms of similar list structures.
So may be scums year to win.
If you are referencing Paul Heaver's list, I'm not too sure. I haven't faced one yet, but my gut tells me that a well flown Palp/Defenders list takes Asajj and 2 thugs down hard.
Although I think defenders can win against anything if flown well, I think asajj and two tlt is exactly the kind of list that can beat them. Although they don't mind stress, it still limits them, plus tractor beam can throw them around and mess up their k turns, image getting streds, then being thrown in the right place to stop the k turn, it would be a sh*tty situation for the defender player, then tlt force you to use up your tokens, because first you gotta stop asajj ' s shot, then have to survive 4 3 dice attacks, possibly with lower agility because of a tractor beam token
If that doesn't show that Palp is OP nothing will...
Kinda assuming every list is identical there.
If that doesn't show that Palp is OP nothing will...
Strongly disagree. Palp is an upgrade that goes really well with a lot of lists.
If you were to label lists with other popular upgrades, you'd see similar numbers. How many "PtL aces" are out there, for example?
Palp is just another tool in the box. Sure, he's more of a swiss army knife than anything else, but these numbers alone don't remotely speak to that.
That being said, I'm surprised by the lack of VCXs.
If that doesn't show that Palp is OP nothing will...
You're assuming that all the Palp Aces builds are the same, and that they'll all end up winning.

I've played this matchup and what happens is Asajj has a hard time hitting the defenders... Palp keeps the Defenders fine until the Y wings are dead. Then your left with Asajj and 2 defender that can't get concentrated fire on her and when time is called the 2 defenders have more points.
If that doesn't show that Palp is OP nothing will...
While I have my own issues with Palp, the really telling number that would show us what cards are problems is the % of lists of that faction that include that card.

Day 1 #Xwing stat: 41% of players went Imperial, 25% Rebel, and 34% Scum.
You have to remember that most people would have been using their list for the last few months and I imagine most wouldn't want to switch to rebels a few weeks before worlds.

"the meta" is a bit broader than worlds, esp given the time the poor guys have had to prepare for the change with
A little surprised to see Z95s rank high. Cheap filler or are Z-swarms making a come back?
Also TIE/fo. Haven't heard much about them unless it is all Omega and/or Zeta Leader. My friends and I fly them quite a bit but that is different.

Wasn't FFG's reasonong for doing this FAQ before Worlds to 'open up the meta'? By those percentages they have IMO failed. You have to remember that most people would have been using their list for the last few months and I imagine most wouldn't want to switch to rebels a few weeks before worlds.
I think it's goes back to what Paul said when interviewed by Stay on Target. Disney has a big movie coming out soon and X-Wing TMG isn't a huge priority for them. I'm sure the FAQ was sent to The Mouse quite a while ago but took forever to be approved. It's really unfortunate on the timely but uboats with deadeye were a big problem for the game. Plus Imps and Scum have so much more exciting stuff right now.

Wait, the FAQ even has to be reviewed by Disney? Really?

Everything Star Wars has to be approved by Lucas film. My article for the LCG a couple years ago took six weeks.

I was aware things need to be reviewed, but a FAQ review seems... Unnecessary.
Everything related to Star Wars has to be approved. Welcome to the world of licensing.

Ya I understand it don't worry. Just seems trivial considering none of the changes actually had anything inherently to do with Star Wars. What is Disney going to say? "Well, actually, it's not in line with the new canon for Deadeye to be small ship only..."
Just funny is all.

More like, "hmmm yup I don't understand any of this and nothing directly star wars related so APPROVED".
