Wave 6 prediction thread

By Crabbok, in Star Wars: Armada

Assault gunboats to piss off all the Xwing players.

Some generic titles that you can put on any ship would be cool.

^The Scimitar Assault Bomber is pretty cool looking. The proper TIE advanced 'Avenger' is also missed.

If FFG doesn't mind diving into more XvT material I wouldn't mind seeing the TIE experimentals from XWA as well as the TIE Avenger. Squadron-sized boarding craft and boarding mechanics could be cool too (via dx9 stormtrooper transports, TIE boarding craft, sentinel landing craft, zeta/eta-class shuttles, etc). R41 starchasers, K-Wings, ARC-170 refits and yt-2000s for rebels perhaps?

I fully doubt we'll see more content from the old TIE Fighter, X-Wing, XvT, etc games in Armada. They would go to X-Wing first, either way.

I always loved those tie avengers. Good times. Good times. Boy does that bring me back and I'm not even old... Well I guess maybe I am now haha.

But seriously no new squadrons for a while. We've covered that catagory for a long time. We need Medium class attention.

ISD-I (only the model is different cards work for standard ISD and stats are thr same) We have a plethora of Imperial specific names in canon to justify it.

Admiral: Grand Admiral Thrawn

Officer: Director Krennic

Officer: Captain Shaef Corssin (Captain of the Devastator in Rogue One and consequently A New Hope).

Title: Chimaera (canon now)

Title: Executrix

All upgrades focused on benefiting ISD-Is and making them as appealing as ISD-II'S.

Imperial: Quasar Fire (i would love it for rebels as a callback to the Flurry, but if we give every captured or stolen ship to the rebels, the imps won't have anything)

Rebels: mon cal ship from rogue one

I don't know what else. Is the ISD 1 different enough to warrant its own model?

Maybe not but that all white with the X deflector array? GIMME

I think it would be way too early to put out a second ISD expansion. I want to see new stuff, not a reskinned ship for the same side with slight differences.

Arc 170 and K-wings and U-wings.

TIE punisher and TIE Advanced prototype and TIE striker.

Probably two different packs.

Slam and some other bomber keyword too.

But I hope to not see that all for awhile

Maybe if they do a wave of carriers, the Quasar Fire would end up as a rebel ship and they would do a Venator as an Imperial carrier? Would also be a way to get a second large imperial ship.

Maybe an Endurance class carrier for the rebels, but that ship is obscure AF.

They could always do the Quasar Fire and the Imperial escort carrier, but that flying dumpster is so ugly. Plus I would love to see a Venator even if I don't play imperials. Say what you want about the prequels, they introduced some pretty cool ships.

There is one ship no one has seemed to mention, the large angular bulk cruisers from Rebels.

Maybe a single ship version of the flotilla thats below a raider but above the imperial light cruisers.

I would love to see an imperial escort carrier. They may not be sleek but the design is actually really practical.

As for that cargo ship. It's a possibility but what would it bring to the game other than a sinimatic or scenario piece. Seriously what are your thoughts??

It depends really on what the base sizes mean. Is it based on size of the model, purpose of the ship, or the gameplay of the ship.

However I imagine the MC-75 will only be a large base ship if the Imperials likewise get a large base ship.

Something cheap between the Gozanti and the Raider. Gameplay wise? I have no idea.

I hope you're right.

I wouldn't mind it being large, but it's feeling kind of weird that the Rebels have more Large ships than the Imperials. Even though I know it's just because, y'know, ISD s. ISDs for days.

I've thought it might be a cool looking addition but am at a loss as to how to make it a viable asset for combat other than maybe a kamikaze type of ship.

I think it'd be great to get a simple two-ship wave next, rather than anything big. A gunship flotilla for each side would be cool, they could be something new to the game in that they would have very low capability to command squadrons (maybe just 1, with something instead of the offensive retrofit, like maybe weapons teams), but have greater ranged strength than the ones out now.

Or, a paired medium-base wave in that the Empire could have a Dreadnought, while the Rebels get the Assault Frigate Mk1.

I'm all for smaller waves it's been a lot to digest getting wave 5 and CC at the same time. I mainly want faster FAQs.

I'd like to see a wave of one small ship for each side a large or ship for the imperials and a medium ship for the rebels. But as its been stated many times: An ISD is an ISD is an ISD.

Well the Imperials still could get the Tector class that would have a large base and is canon. I imagine FFG would have to be given permission to design the rest of the tector however.

Q-ship, hidden missile launchers in the cargo pods and a discard attack upgrade. Maybe a ship bound Strategic keyword that could also/instead move terrain or stations. Cargo Dump, create a dust field in range 1.

Theres lots of stuff you could do.

Cool, had never heard the term Q ships, had to google that one. This does seem like a perfect use for those transports.
