So the two main ships that we certainly expect to see from Rebels, would be the Quasar and the Hammerhead. For purposes of gameplay, I'd expect the Hammerheads to obviously be rebel, but the Quasar to be Imperial (Even though it's stolen by rebels in the show). But would wave 6 be only a 2 ship wave?

I doubt we'll see 2 more squadron packs with the next wave, considering that since the Correlian Conflict is likely going to arrive the same day as Wave 5.... Wave 5 will end up being the biggest wave for squadrons since the game launched - so I'd expect Wave 6 to either be 4 ships, or the two mentioned above plus maybe 2 more flotillas.

If it's flotillas, the door is open for larger sized flotillas - such as a CR-90 flotilla on a medium base, or something to that effect - Perhaps even a mixed ship flotilla on a large base - A Nebulon + 2 CR-90s, or a Gladiator, Raider, and Gozanti... something wierd like that... but I think that some type of "Battle Group" flotilla might be farther down the line and not in wave 6.

So back to the 4 ship prediction - If indeed I'm right and it's Hammerhad + Quasar... then what would the other two be?

And another question - What commanders are we likely to still see? I don't think we'll see Thrawn until we get a better glimpse of the ships from the 7th fleet, so I think it's more likely we might see some familiar faces like Leia and Lando as commanders, and I think we could also see Sloan for the Imperials since she's been in several books now, - but I also remember that each time we DON'T see Piett, it's more likely that we get an SSD!

I would like to see Pellaeon and Daala as commanders, Hammerhead I can see coming into the game and maybe Dreadnaught-class heavy cruisers (as well as the assault variant)

I'm actually expecting something new to arrive in Rebels. Something brought by Thrawn. Whatever it is is being held back on the announcement until Rebels shows it.

Valen Rudor being revealed just after Rebels showed him makes me think they are waiting in that show for more so they don't spoil anything.

Baron Rudor's been spoiled in Rebels since Season 1, I believe... And even longer so if you have seen the internet-only shorts... (Which I have not)

My guess and I'll be honest I'm more often wrong than I'm right. I don't know if we'll get something from Rebels or Rogue One since we do see the Fleet in the trailer it's entirely possible FFG will draw from their first.

Rebels: DP-20 aka Corellian Gunship, as they've already pulled two Rebel ships from Empire at War (yes I know the MC-30 was a concept sketch for RoTJ before it was in Empire at War) it will be a small base, single ship.

Sure, but there's a balance between simulating the ship's capabilities in the lore, and carving out an effective niche in the game. Based on a small bit of screen time, we wouldn't have pegged the Pelta as much more than a CR90 clone, but they decided to give it totally different armaments and a new upgrade type. The Hammerheads could be a corvette-type ship with a Fleet Support slot, for their split role of light warship and transport. Just as an example.

I still want the Vindicator cruiser for the Imperials. A nice 70 point ship with as much general purpose as the AFmk2.

Id love to see Lancer figate for the empire and corelian gunship for the rebels. Both could be dedicated anti-squadron platforms. Maybe CC-7700/CC-9600 as the rebel 'interdictor', dauntless cruiser, liberator cruiser fő the rebels, star galleon, strike cruiser, carrack light cruiser for the imps. Escort Carrier could be available for Both factions.

The Rebs had to grab whatever they could and ended with quite the mishmash and thus have a large number of different classes available.

Mind you, I wouldn't be against another large option for the Imps, I'm just saying that it makes sense that they only have a single class of ship.

They did have different classes among that "single class of large ship" you are talking about. Tector-Class Star Destroyers were designed for heavy combat while sacrificing squadron capacity and Secutor-Class Star Destroyers were dedicated carriers. Both are still considered canon as well, for those that care about that.

Also, the Venator-Class ships didn't just disappear once the First Galactic Empire took over. They were used for years until finally being phased out of active service. If we can have the Arqutiens-Class added to Armada, it makes sense for the Venator to be added as well.

Mind you, as long as we continue to get new ships, i'm happy. Gotta feed that prack addiction

Also an immobilizer class interdictor cruiser. A small base ship that is maybe the same cost as a gladiator. Not as powerful as the standard interdictor the Immobilizer has limited capabilities in line with the larger interdictor, maybe one slot for the current ship's abilities.

Main purpose is to alter opposing ships fire such a bombers and missiles. Maybe slots for upgrades such as like one round per match block all bombers from attacking chosen ship within such and such range. Create jamming fields where all medium and short range attacks within a specific area are treated as obstructed. Fun stuff like that. A complete support ship that has to get close to the action to work but has terrible defenses and needs to be protected.
