Poe and Triple A-Wings

By The Kindly Casual, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello! Been practicing with this list for awhile and plan on taking it to regionals. Seems to do decently against Aces and Scum builds with Large ships. Hoping to get some thoughts and advice. Thanks!

Poe and Triple A-Wings

Total - 100 points

Poe Dameron (31) with Predator (3), BB-8 (2), and Integrated Astromech (0)

Green Squadron Pilot (19) with Chaardan Refit (-2), Push the Limit (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Juke (2), and Autothrusters (2)

Green Squadron Pilot (19) with Chaardan Refit (-2), Push the Limit (3), A-Wing Test Pilot (0), Outmaneuver (3), and Autothrusters (2)

Prototype Pilot (17) with Chaardan Refit (-2)

If you are using Poe, I would switch some of this up a bit. I really like 3 A wings, but I think the following could make it a bit more powerful:

Poe:

- Adaptability

- R5-P9

- Black One

- Pattern Analyzer

- Autothrusters

Then the A-wings can stay the same, except I would take Outmaneuver out in place of Adaptability for the second A wing. Poe can do a lot more arc dodging and regeneration with this build and all you lose out on is Outmaneuver. Additionally, if Poe is flying with any of the A-wing close, he can remove target locks.

I need another A-wing.

However, I have found that Outmaneuver is often key to the A-Wing's ability to land hits. They may be maneuverable, but 2 attack dice doesn't usually manage to score much damage. Thus the use of Juke and Outmaneuver, to make the shots stick. In my experience, Poe ends up being either an expensive (and tempting) piece of bait, or an unbothered gun that can land big hits when needed.

Also, I do not see where arc-dodging comes into play with Poe. Pattern Analyzer is the new Tech that allows actions to be taken before the stress (I.e. red maneuvers), correct? If so, I'd think that BB-8 would be more helpful. I think I'd be more like to consider switching Predator for Push the Limit.
