Hi!

  • 24 pts to go, what to chose? Z with HM? Y with TLT? HWK with TLT Other?

Thoughts?

For the second list with 24 pts left over, you can use 21 pts for Lt. Blount w/ Ion Pulse Missile and VI. With his auto hit, your opponent will be ioned for both small and big ships and against any stealth devices, he always counts as hitting which knocks it out. I'd probably switch Guidance Chips with LRS to allow you to focus when unloading your Homing missiles. With those 3 points leftover after that, I'd give Horton Bomb Loadout and give him a Seismic Bomb for 2 pts allowing for Initiative bid.

Another solid use of those 24 points would be a Green Sq. A-Wing w/ Autothrusters, Refit, AWing Test Pilot and whatever combination of EPTs you like on it. Juke, Crackshot, and Adaptability are always solid.

I like the first list, with Wes instead of Braylen. But if you are going to run a Biggs, Wes combo, then you might think of running Corran or Miranda over the Ghost. I would run Biggs and Wes with the Miranda build from the second list. Also, I have found Long Range Scanners to be a better fit for Miranda than Guidance chips. Just an idea.

Best of luck at your regional tournament!

I like the Lothal/Biggs/Braylen list. My personal feeling is that Braylen is a better carrier for the Stressbot than Wes and that without the threat of U-boats, the need for Wes's token stripping is reduced.

Comparing Braylen and Wes, Wes has a much better PS and a cool ability. But Braylen can double-stress which really puts the hurt on a lot of ships and makes him more reliable. Worst case Wes inflicts no damage and 1 stress token. Worst case Braylen inflicts 2 stress or 1 stress and 1 damage. Braylen can fire out of 2 arcs and has a much better dial for furballing. Lastly, Braylen can much more readily shift the stress from Stressbot since he has 50% more Greens than Wes and a 50% chance of clearing a stress token anyway.

Which will do better with Defenders? :)

Horton and Miranda might possibly do better against Defenders. Homing Missiles and TLTs should burn through their token stacks but it could be an uphill battle.

You will be looking at taking at least 2 damage per defender per turn due to your low agility so using ordnance to burn one down as quickly as possible will be vital. Horton's plasma torpedo should make a good opening shot as you are virtually guaranteed to strip 2 shields. Follow up with a 5-dice Homing missile from Miranda and you are potentially looking at a very damaged Defender in the opening exchange.

The question is what else to add to the list. 24 points is an awkward spot for Rebels. A prototype A-wing with Chaardan Refit and autothrusters is only 17 points and makes a great blocker with a bit extra durability. That leaves you with 7 points for a few extra upgrades. EMs might be worthwhile on Horton. A crew to boost Miranda's survivability might also be handy, C-3PO or Chewie are both good options. Or leave Horton as he stands and put some bombs on Miranda. Defenders like their long straights and sweeping curves to exploit the /x7 title so Conner nets are a great option and will really hinder them on the next turn.

Miranda-Dash might be worth considering against Defenders. They don't have auto-thrusters and are quite expensive meaning SD is relatively uncommon. This means Dash's heavily modified 4-dice shot is likely to get some damage through. He has a great open dial (much better than the Defenders ironically) and a 360-degree field of fire. He is also PS7 which puts him above Vess and Ryad who seem to be the most popular defender pilots. This means he should be able to use his Boost and BR to ensure they do not doughnut-hole him and hopefully also get out of their arcs. It may be a fairly cliched list but I think it could do well.
