Gah, I didn't see the interview. Hopefully they post it.
Worlds Updates
I think it was a video interview, I'm not sure if that was twitched or if it will just be a YouTube clip.
I see you added 2016 World Champion.
That should be Bolded and Underlined, my Friend ![]()

It should be on a different line too.

Great job!
This is why I was bummed when you didn't come back for the finals at GenCon. I think you could have won both!
Man, I think JJ has this. Gallant Haven isn't living through the Y swarm. Justin badly over committed it.
Justin keeps bumping his **** around. Is he always this sloppy or is he trying to change the game state?
I played against Justin at the team tournament, and we had an interesting discussion (as well as a very humorous game). He pointed out that he felt pretty wiped out by today, having played an entire day yesterday (until about 10pm), while the folks who played on Thursday got a full day of rest (should they desire). He definitely thought it contributed to his mistakes today. Just to be clear, he wasn't complaining, but more just thoughtfully analyzing.
Overall many of us agreed that the tourney structure would be better as a bigger simultaneous event, with perhaps 5 or 6 rounds over two days, and perhaps a top six cut with their on two or three round Swiss tourney the day after. That would ensure everyone is equally fatigued. ![]()
I am sooo tempted on occasion to start playing Vassal......then I look at my gorgeous ships and go no. But congrats to the winner, and I am still astounded by the massive cloud of stuff in the middle, darn. I have to say that the lack of Imperial representation at the top slots has left me..... disappointed.

It's your prerogative, of course. But here's the thing. Nobody plays Vassal when they could be playing IRL. We play vassal on other nights when we can'r get to the game store or nobody else locally is available or we can't start till too late or whatever.
Of course playing on the table is better than playing Vassal. But playing on Vassal is better than not playing at all.

This. I only get to play IRL at tournaments about once a month. I don't have the time to go to local gaming nights. Unless I want to just play against myself, Vassal is my only option.

I stress test my new fleets by playing against fleets I know are successful. It was weird at first playing against yourself, but I found it is extremely helpful in deployment and the movement of ships and squads. I play at least 2 games a week against myself, and 2-3 against my community. I never could get into Vassal, and I don't think I would be able to pick up any valuable skills that translate to the table.

Yeah might be time to start pruning some of leaves off that tree. When World Champion comes after third place in vassal holiday tournament you're kinda burying the lead.
Agreed. You need to rate your accomplishments in order of most glorious to least glorious. So:
Runner Up - Vassal World Cup
2016 World Champion
Other Events

And yet all you really want to win is:
the NEXT Armada Vassal Tournament! ![]()
And when it will be?
The only thing that stop me is time difference. Is it possible to run tournament on Vassal for Europe only

Is there any chance to see all players list?

If you can play that much Armada, you sure don't need Vassal ![]()

At Large signups in late December. Pods assembled and games begin January 1st.

Yea it's one of the many nice things of having a community that averages 8 people a night when we do get together every week. I really hope it is getting better for everyone else that plays.
Were there even 30 people for either qualifying event?

the NEXT Armada Vassal Tournament!
See, for me an actual face to face event with ships on table will always take order of precedence over an online setting. Always.
Was interesting to see the matches, shame there was only 2 but considering how long they take, it was to be expected

I find the whole signature thing really weird, and a bit sad...

Fair enough...it started out as a joke (I think someone else brought up the idea to me), and it still really is to me. I remember these tournaments listed fondly, due the memories involved. The first vassal tournament was my first armada tournament, the first vassal world cup had an epic semi-final matchup and I got to fit a star trek pun in....My teammates made a pact to put our team name in our sig if we won, and the deal or no-deal was a really cool unique tournament idea. If you see it as something else, we'll I'd just ask you not to judge without knowing me first.
