Kanan plus pattern analyzer plus PTL

By ObiWan, in X-Wing Rules Questions

One of the cool things about pattern analyzer is that it allows you to reveal a green, execute manuever, push the limit, receive a stress, and then "check pilot stress" to clear the stress.

My question is: does this work with Kanan and a white manuever. So, say Rey is flying with Kanan as crew and a PTL, PA Poe executes a white manuever and ends up within range 1-2 of Rey. Can Poe push the limit, receive a stress and then use a Pattern Analyzer/Kanan combo to remove the stress?

No. Kanan's timing comes after executing a maneuver he has nothing to do with when the "Check Pilot Stress" step happens. He still clears stress before you perform your action with Pattern Analyzer.

To further this answer, the key is that pattern analyzer doesn't actually switch when perform action and check pilot stress occur, though it is easy to make it so in your mind.

Standard order:

Execute maneuver {

Move ship

Check pilot stress

Clean-up}

> Kanan trigger

Perform action

Pattern analyzer:

Execute maneuver {

Move ship

Clean-up}

> Kanan trigger

Perform action

Check pilot stress

Now if we get a rebel ship with Crew, Elite, and Tech, then Kanan/PA can grant you stress free push the limit on any non red maneuver.

Eh, just fly him in a wingman.
