Do you Tie Swarm bro?

I didn't put this in a fleet build thread, because I thought it was down right hilarious....through my divorce I spent alot of time in a dark room painting swarms of ties...hell I paint ties at my desk at work on long hold calls...and now I've switched to V-wings.

I'm curious guys....how many ties can you came into a fleet and actually make it work?

Oh I also trapped a stink bug in a paper cup and put a brick ontop of it....he will die a slow death. #TarkinDoctrine #usethebluecan

Drop a regular TIE and make some room for Valen Rudor, and I think you'd end up with a pretty burly squadron. The problem is that as soon as a double-dice AS battery looks at those TIEs funny they're going to melt.

Alternatively....drop the aces...and add more ties....and some gonzo's to push em....and drop tarkin for motti....and look at the utter terror on the foes face.

TBH they were there to jump in the way and absorb some shots...then the rest of the swarm would follow up and swallow them whole.

Problem is, you'll kill squads, but you won't kill ships...

You are also well over your 134 point squadron allowance.

Not unless this is a 500 point Corellian Conflict matchup. In that instance you can have up to twenty tie fighter squadrons

Or ten TIEs and six bombers. Even the normal TIEs will do 5 dmg on average.

Best is one isd, 2 gozis and a mess of ties. Even if you can't control them all they die pretty fast, so just send in the backups

Many ties. Much howling. Long game.

TIE swarms are fun, but if you go without some bombers you gonna have a bad time against squadronless builds. Not necessarily because your TIEs wont do some okay damage over the course of the game, but because 3 HP thingies are not really meant to bulk up in close range to anything that even remotely looks like a Flak.

His ties will all be dead by the end of turn 2, so nothing to fear

You should put Dengar in this fleet because there is so much synergy.

TIE fighters can easily swarm a capital ship and bring it much grief. It has to be timed so that the fighters are between friend and enemy so your opponent has to choose between shooting at capital ships or shooting at 8 point TIE squadrons. Gunnery teams helps him also but if he has to shoot at two ships, he's likely not to go for TIEs. Bottom line: don't push them out on their own.

50% of the time a Tie doing a Bombing run does damage 100% of the time.

When I first test this, Im going to use and ISD and 3 Goz

I once built a fleet of 133 points of T/B, and the other2/3 of my fleet was Ozzel, Gozanti with Flight Commanders and EHB - EDIT: and BCC, of course.

No idea how well it would play, but it would be fun.
