So, what are the standard Dash Rendar builds now?

By Zura, in X-Wing

In the hands of an experienced player, Dash with Kyle crew will always win out over Dash with Kanan. The trick is ptl'ing the turn before the engagement so that you have Focus/TL off of 1 action during the engagement. From there it's all about knowing when to push and when not to so that you can use the full dial the next turn. Kanan is a good alternative if you have trouble setting up the engagements, but the loss of the free focus is most definitely felt by way of losing damage output and/or survivability.

Dash Rendar (56) - YT-2400

Lone Wolf (2), Heavy Laser Cannon (7), Rey (2), Outrider (5), Engine Upgrade (4)

Cheap dash that still has Engine Upgrade and easy access to focus with entire dial open.

^^This is my pick. I may lose the engines (I know a huge sin) for an Anti-Pursuit Laser to put 2 A-Wings with Juke+Snap+Auto Thrusters.

Or I will give in and purchase a 2nd YT-2400 to put in Eaden Vrill+ Cassian Andor (once he's out as well) + HLC + Snuggling Compartments + Cargo Chute + Anti Pursuit Lasers as a blocker/jouster. (44 points)

Dash + Vrill is a good answer to Dangaroo.

I have a double 2400 list in my builder waiting for Cassian too. Very similar. Standard Super dash, but Vrill has an autoblaster

Yes Kyle-Dash will usually beat out Kanan-Dash. However, it is not as black and white as it seems. Going against a Turret, Kyle is definitely the choice to have. Going against an interceptor, or a fast moving high PS Arc-Dodger is a different story. This is where Kanan comes out on top with his unpredictability. Most decent Imperial Ace players can stay in the donut with Kyle-Dash, it is much more difficult with Kanan.

One on One, Kyle-Dash beats Kanan-Dash because of the Fat Turret and they both have the same firing arc with the donut. Up against a PS8+ ace with boost and barrel roll, that is where Kanan-Dash shines.
