BREAKFAST SCHEDULE

By BiggsIRL, in Star Wars: Armada

THURSDAY 8:00AM - Baker's Square

FRIDAY 8:00AM - Perkins

SATURDAY 8:00AM - TBD

Man I man....the thought of Perkins and Baker's Square warms my little Midwestern farm boy's heart. Haven't been to those places since high school!

what about Sunday? My plane doesn't leave until the evening.

I am so frakkin' envious of you people.

Isn't 3 days of breakfast enough community togetherness?

Cool, good to see, not sure I'll make it as I'm driving up Fri/Sat. Would have to leave ~6:30am ... and I kinda like to avoid the butt crack of dawn.

But what about second breakfast?

I recognize that not everyone attending will have vehicles or a desire to travel too far from the event site... but it makes me sad when people are visiting my fair city and spend the whole time in forgettable chain restaurants. Minneapolis (and St. Paul) is not a big city and is pretty easy to move around in so there's little risk to visiting our many great eateries.

Vikings game???

Prediction: no one eating at Perkins will finish top 2... /lol sarcasm

I totally understand the distaste of chain restaurants...but your definition of a big city is a lot different than mine :)

I tried to pick restraunts that were on the FFG pamphlet map, but we still have Saturday.

On a related note, recomendations for dinner are very much welcome in this thread.

I would think Thursday and Friday we won't be getting done till after 9pm or so.

Assuming I don't make the Saturday cut, and I bet I won't, the place with the best in-house brewed beers.

So make sure it is open late!

We have already won!

Nearish to FFG is Brasa but they don't brew. Their open secret is a fantastic family style dinner menu that with a shocking flavor/cost ratio.

For food and beer it'll depend on your location on the beer/food scale. I would recommend Surly Brewing for those on the beer-end and perhaps Town Hall or Republic if you're more centrist on the scale. There's also dozens of breweries with tasting rooms but the food options will be random as you never know what food truck will be parked up front (I've been to and can recommend all of the following): Bauhaus, Fulton, Bang, Sociable Cider Werks, Indeed, Dangerous Man, Summit.

If you're okay without brewed-on-location eateries I would recommend the Blue Door Pub (the original location, not the new U of M spot) for having burgers and sides you wont ever forget. I also love Grumpys (think 50's diner meets heavy metal).

Truthfully, it's kind of hard to go wrong. We have a long winter here so you have to have nice amenities to offset the desire to move elsewhere.

Nearly forgot: the weather will still be warm (by our standards) so Psycho Suzi's will be a great spot. They've got a great patio, so-so food, and the best tiki-bar vibe in the midwest (there's a place in Chicago I would rate higher... but I'm not sharing that gem with anyone).

The breakfast at the Radisson where our tourney takes place is also good. That's where we'll be.

There's a Lunds & Byerlys nearby. It's a bit more upscale (think Whole Foods) but they've got a great prepared foods section.

Side note im flying in tonight. ANybody gonna be watching the world series near ffg?

Surly sounds great, but it's 1 h 37 min walking distance away from the FFG center. Drive us, and I'll buy you some beers! :P
