On a related note, recomendations for dinner are very much welcome in this thread.
Assuming I don't make the Saturday cut, and I bet I won't, the place with the best in-house brewed beers.
Nearish to FFG is Brasa but they don't brew. Their open secret is a fantastic family style dinner menu that with a shocking flavor/cost ratio.
For food and beer it'll depend on your location on the beer/food scale. I would recommend Surly Brewing for those on the beer-end and perhaps Town Hall or Republic if you're more centrist on the scale. There's also dozens of breweries with tasting rooms but the food options will be random as you never know what food truck will be parked up front (I've been to and can recommend all of the following): Bauhaus, Fulton, Bang, Sociable Cider Werks, Indeed, Dangerous Man, Summit.
If you're okay without brewed-on-location eateries I would recommend the Blue Door Pub (the original location, not the new U of M spot) for having burgers and sides you wont ever forget. I also love Grumpys (think 50's diner meets heavy metal).
Truthfully, it's kind of hard to go wrong. We have a long winter here so you have to have nice amenities to offset the desire to move elsewhere.
Nearly forgot: the weather will still be warm (by our standards) so Psycho Suzi's will be a great spot. They've got a great patio, so-so food, and the best tiki-bar vibe in the midwest (there's a place in Chicago I would rate higher... but I'm not sharing that gem with anyone).
Surly sounds great, but it's 1 h 37 min walking distance away from the FFG center. Drive us, and I'll buy you some beers!
Safety first, gotta have a DD - that's why a cab is the happier alternative. 10 minute drive from FFGC or less.
