Stay on target. Red maneuver treated as a red maneuver=double stress?

By Stoneface, in X-Wing Rules Questions

Finally getting around to using some of the newer ships with older cards and ran into this. If I have SOT equipped to Nien Numb on a T70 and set a maneuver to 3 straight (green) then change that maneuver to a Tallon Roll, does Numb pick up 2 stress? One for SOT and one for the Tallon Roll?

I'm inclined to say yes to two stress but not 100% sure.

Nope. You don't get a stress for using SoT. It just makes whatever maneuver you end up executing red.

No. Stay on Target does not assign stress, it just determines the difficulty of the maneuver.

So, even if I do a red maneuver with SOT I only draw one stress? Hmm, this has potential.

Thanks!

If you revealed a 3-bank and then used Stay on Target to change it to a 3-straight, that (normally) green manoeuvre would now be red. You execute the manoeuvre, Stay on Target makes it red, and you pick up a stress for executing a red manoeuvre. It works exactly the same when you choose a red as the final manoeuvre. It doesn't matter what you chose, it's now red thanks to Stay on Target, so only the one stress token. :)

Red cannot be more red... there is no redder... If I say, threat your house as a red house, and it is already red, nothing will happen...

Red cannot be more red... there is no redder...

In wave 11, they so need to come out with a ship with a Ultra-red maneuver... It will be like an amp that goes to 11.

Ultra-red.

So.

Orange?

Ultra-red.

So.

Orange?

No it's still red, only more red then normal red. It's like going to 11, when 10 isn't enough you can go to 11.

Imaginary number :)

(Square Root of -1) level of red.

Now we enter meta math !

well....what is red usually affiliated with? bad stuff. what other bad stuff is red? fire. Whats worse than red fire? BLUE FIRE

Confirmed blue maneuvers wave 11: cause doublestress.

You need to shift it the other way. Far Infrared as opposed to near infrared.

The other way would be infra-red which is slower and lower energy and thus lame man.

All red maneuvers are red but some are more red than others.

But redder than orange.

No no no ... the Blue maneuvers in W11 give you an ion token. C'mon, we're talking basics here, how can ya mess that one up?

Follow up question. Can I use SOT if I am already stressed? I'm inclined to say no.

You can reveal a red manoeuvre when you have stress, and you can use a game effect or card ability to change that to a non-red manoeuvre. But the fact that SoT treats the final manoeuvre as red means you'd run foul of the new "revealing a red while stressed" rule, forcing you to perform a white 2-straight.

I thought it was too good to be that way. ****!

Unless you have Hera crew, which allows you to execute red maneuvers while stressed. Herm... I wonder... Hera, FCS, SoT... Which could technically work on Han at PS9, but would probably be better on a non-PWT ship, like Ten?

Han can't take FCS. The B Wing is the only ship which can take Rebel Crew, System and EPT together IIRC. At least until the U Wing comes out, anyway.

True.. but you could also do it via SOT TA and Hera in the ARC (I think).
