Squadrons....whats left?

By Gottmituns205, in Star Wars: Armada

I think the TIE Striker, ARC and U-Wing are strong possibilities in the future. TIE Advanced Prototype maybe.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the Tie Strikers atmospheric fighters? Don't know if they would make sense in space, but maybe they are duel roll.

I think most new ship, like many have said, will come from new canon material. I think you could definitely bring in some old cannon stuff if you opened up a third faction, but I REALLY don't want a third faction. Star Wars, to me, is all about the Rebellion vs. Empire.

X-Wing seems to believe they'll fly just fine in space... With their Ailerons and all...

Skipray blast boats

Skipray blast boats

I would like this fifty more times if I could!

The Imps need their Skipray Blastboats!!

However, the VT-49 Decimator pretty much fulfills the role (Independent, hyperspace capable, heavy patrol craft) that I would see the Skipray having.

Also, the Decimator is from a computer game, rather than from a roleplaying game. FFG (and Disney, probably, too) privileges computer game sources over pen & paper sources. That's probably wise, as it helps them tickle the nostalgia of a larger group of people. Also, because computer games had to make their things visually more attractive, it helps it that department as as well.

So, I'm not holding my breath (anymore) for the Skipray.

Can we hold our breath for Assault Gunboats? Even though they've not been in any games outside the X-Wing series, and there's been plenty of opportunity. I want more Gunboats!

I won't be surprised if.....star scavenger!

As Drasnighta said they're coming to X-Wing. Who knows what they'll do in Rogue One (43 days to go!).

Absolutely agree with a third faction. I don't want it either. Look at all the weird ships in X-Wing these days. They mean nothing to me.

While I only fly for the Empire, I quite like the wide range of vessels available to Scum. They represent the diversity of the Star Wars galaxy.

Which, of course, must be cut down to size, and subjected to the glorious uniformity of the New Order.

Well a lot of stuff. None of the Wave 7 ships are out in squadrons and quite a few of wave 6 but waves 1-5 from X-wing will be introduced in Armada when Wave 5 is around. Also snipe allows for an attack at range 2 against squadrons.
